This is as it is proper as translated in some of the translations of Naktsö. Images and other false appearances are appearances as false, which is the falsehood of the assembly of appearance as a face and emptiness thereof. Therefore, its true emptiness is emptiness by the truth of the face, but there is no meaning of true emptiness established by the nature of the image itself. Therefore, although the image is established as empty of the face, there is no contradiction that it is true in the face of the conventional that holds the image as established by its own nature, so it is the truth of the conventional. Therefore, if it is said that the image is not the truth of the conventional, it is intended that in the face of the conventional of the world that is familiar with the terms, such as the image of the face, the face is false, so it is not the truth of the conventional in relation to it. How can the conventional truth spoken of by "The conventional truth of false appearance" not be established? If it is not so, if there is no truth in the conventional, then it contradicts the conventional being true. If it is said that self-nature is not established even in name, then it contradicts all the arrangements made in name, such as refuting true establishment and establishing true non-existence. Therefore, images and other objects that are known as illusions even by the self-satisfied consciousness of worldly people are not conventional truths, but only conventional. Saying this seems to be a statement that does not understand the definite number of the two truths, the truth and falsehood in relation to worldly people, and the truth and falsehood established by the Madhyamikas. It is also said that self-nature does not appear at all to those who have ignorance. This is because the noble ones who have not abandoned ignorance are said to realize it directly, so it is intended for the consciousness that is defiled by ignorance. The subsequent wisdom of the noble learners and the views of ordinary people on reality are defiled by ignorance and its habits, so although they do not appear directly, in general, it must be admitted that the ultimate truth appears. Thus, for the time being, by the power of the afflicted ignorance included in the limb of existence, the conventional truth is established, as it is said, all dharmas

The ignorance that clings to reality, which is known as the self-grasping of persons and the self-grasping of phenomena, is considered to be the ignorance of the twelve links, and therefore is not considered to be the obscuration of knowledge. The statement that conventional truth is established by the power of ignorance clinging to reality refers to showing the way in which truth is established in the presence of whom, and not that pots, cloths, etc. are conventional truths, established by that clinging to reality. For what is established by that clinging to reality is considered impossible even in one's own terminology. Therefore, the 'truth' in 'conventional truth' refers to the conventional in whose presence it is established, and the conventional in which pots, etc. are established as existing conventionally. Because the names are the same, many people seem to confuse the meanings, so it should be carefully distinguished. So, are these pots, etc. true in the presence of all beings who have not attained Buddhahood? Or are they also untrue in the presence of the conventional for some people? Those forms, sounds, etc. that are established as conventional truths, for those who regard them as like illusions, images, etc., for the Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Bodhisattvas who have abandoned the ignorance of afflictive obscurations, are of a deceptive nature, but not true, because there is no pride in appearing as true. Explaining the meaning of what was said, there are three kinds of people in whose presence it is not true: Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Bodhisattvas. The reason for specifically mentioning the distinction between Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Bodhisattvas is that the complete understanding that all conditioned phenomena are like images, empty of inherent existence but appearing as such, is one distinction. This much is also present in Bodhisattvas below the seventh level and Hearers and Solitary Realizers who are noble learners, so in order to exclude that, it is said that the third kind of person has abandoned ignorance, referring to Bodhisattvas of the pure lands and Hearers who are Arhats, for these three it is not true. What is not true? That is, both internal and external phenomena. The reason for not being true is that there is no pride in being true, that is, there is no clinging to reality, because the ignorance of clinging to reality has been exhausted. Therefore, this is proving that internal and external phenomena are not established as true in the presence of the conventional for those three kinds of people. Thus, the commentary explains that it is not conventional truth in their presence.
