Destroying all arguments, some say that in mistaken cognition, one temporarily accepts or rejects. However, if one distinguishes whether or not thoughts are attached to true existence, then the statement that the reasoning that prevents inherent existence prevents all objects is nonsense. If one does not distinguish, then the thoughts of view and behavior will harm each other like heat and cold. Moreover, the mistaken cognition of the place of establishment, as well as the establisher and the things to be established there, to say that about things that have no place of establishment is a manifestation of darkness. Therefore, one should adhere to the former view of those previous treatises. Fourth, as mentioned above, a wise person who is skilled in the profound and vast aspects should accumulate profound and vast collections of merit in the position of an ordinary being for a long time without interruption, and gradually attain the Joyful Land. Therefore, in order to pursue the Joyful Land, one should listen to the profound path that will be explained. Furthermore, in the commentary on the Four Hundred Verses, it says: If one develops reverence for the words of emptiness of inherent existence, then one should act in such a way that the joy of emptiness increases by facilitating the proximate cause that corresponds to it. One should repay the kindness of great compassion and the Bhagavan Tathagata, and wanting to completely abandon the cause of obstacles to one's own holy Dharma, which is the cause of the great precipice, one should rely on fear, and even give what is difficult to give, and also use the four means of gathering to gather, and be sure to proclaim this holy Dharma to beings who are worthy vessels of the holy Dharma. As it is said, this Dharma needs to be proclaimed with great effort, because it is necessary to be free from the faults of non-vessels. For those who have faith, even if they cannot understand it as it is, one should explain it by taking methods that do not harm the certainty of dependent origination. The speaker is good at understanding, and it is very meritorious to preach to the listeners, even to the lowest capable vessel. In the Sutra Collected from All Sutras, it says: By generating faith in the profound Dharma, one accumulates all merits, and until one attains Buddhahood, all the perfections of the world and beyond will be accomplished, just like the treasures given by the precious child.

This is derived from that. Manjushri Bodhisattva, inseparable from skillful means, practiced the six perfections for hundreds of thousands of kalpas. If someone listens to this Dharma teaching with doubt, the merit they generate is far greater than listening without doubt, let alone writing it down, upholding it, reciting it, and extensively explaining it to others? Thus it is said. In the Diamond Sutra, the Blessed One said: "Subhuti, what do you think? If there were as many grains of sand in the Ganges River as there are Ganges Rivers, would the number of grains of sand in all those Ganges Rivers be many?" Subhuti replied: "Very many, Blessed One. The Ganges Rivers themselves are countless, let alone the sand in them." The Buddha said to Subhuti: "I tell you truthfully, if a son or daughter of good family were to fill as many three-thousand-great-thousand worlds as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River with the seven precious jewels and offer them to the Tathagata, would that son or daughter of good family generate much merit from that cause?" Subhuti replied: "Very much, Blessed One. Very much, Blessed One." The Buddha said to Subhuti: "If a son or daughter of good family were to take hold of even a four-line verse from this sutra and explain it to others, their merit would be far greater than that." Thus it is said. In the Tathagatagarbha Sutra, after enumerating the ten great non-virtuous deeds, it is said: "Those who are associated with these, if they can enter the Dharma of selflessness and have faith and joy in the fact that all Dharmas are pure from the beginning, then these sentient beings will not fall into the lower realms." In the chapter on Subduing Mara, it is said: "If a monk understands that all Dharmas are extremely gentle and knows that the beginning and end of all faults are also empty in nature, and can eliminate the regret caused by committing sins and not make them firm, then even the five heinous crimes can be suppressed, let alone minor violations of rituals and precepts?" Thus it is said. In the Ajatashatru Sutra, it is said: "Those who commit the five heinous crimes, if they hear this sacred Dharma and enter into it with faith and understanding, then their karmic force...

I do not say that it is an obstacle of the ground. As it is said, engaging in teaching and listening, and at other times as well, having faith and thinking about the profound meaning is beneficial. In order to obtain the benefit of teaching well, two things are necessary: one is to have a pure motivation that does not look to gain, respect, and fame, etc.; and the other is to teach the Dharma that is to be taught without misunderstanding its meaning, but teaching it as it is. If one teaches with either or both of the two faults, it is said that it will hinder many merits. As the teacher Vasubandhu said: Therefore, those who teach the Dharma wrongly, and those who teach with a mind full of afflictions, desiring gain, respect, and fame, they diminish their own great merit. As it is said, this is the same here as well. For the listener, it is also important to have a pure motivation for listening and not to misunderstand the meaning. Therefore, both should have at least one quality at the time of teaching and listening. Fifth, there are three: the way of showing the true meaning by scripture, establishing the meaning of the scripture by reasoning, and explaining the divisions of emptiness established by that. First, there are two: listing the ways spoken from scripture, and identifying the opposing aspects of knowing suchness. The first is: In the Ten Bhumi Sutra, it says: When the fifth bhumi enters the sixth bhumi, it enters with ten kinds of equality of dharmas. What are the ten? They are: all dharmas are equal in being without characteristics, all dharmas are equal in being without self-nature, similarly, unborn, unproduced, solitary, primordially pure, without elaboration, equal in being without acceptance and rejection, and all dharmas are equal in being like illusion, dream, mirage, echo, moon in water, reflection, and emanation, and all dharmas are equal in being neither existent nor non-existent. When one fully realizes the nature of all dharmas now, one attains the sixth bodhisattva bhumi that has become manifest through sharp and conforming patience. As it is said, the "similarly" there connects "all dharmas" to "without acceptance and rejection." The first two are the same equality, and the seven like illusion, etc., are equalities like...
