Pages 101 to 200. Pages 101 to 200. That is, falling into unbearable states such as hells, animals, and hungry ghosts, being relentlessly tormented by great and violent suffering, when looking at those who possess unbearable suffering that is a thousand times greater than the suffering of cutting one's own body, for the beggar, the suffering of my cutting and giving my own body, that is, disregarding suffering, from the reason of experiencing suffering oneself, in order to cut off the suffering of other sentient beings such as hells, one quickly strives in Dharma. This is from the translation of Naktsö: "The suffering of cutting and giving the body, seeing other sufferings such as hells, from the suffering experienced oneself, one strives for the sake of cutting off." This is an explanation based on both the original text and the translation. If one has such power of thought, one can give up the body, and it is not contradictory that such thought arises even when one has not attained the bodhisattva ground, therefore it is said that even without attaining the bodhisattva ground, one can give up the body. Fourthly, this intention of giving, which is also emptiness wisdom that is empty of truly fixating on the object of giving, the recipient, and the giver, and is grasped by non-leaking wisdom, is called the transcendent perfection that transcends the world. As stated in the Great Perfection of Wisdom Sutra, the non-objective noble equipoise is transcendent, therefore the giving grasped by it is also established as the transcendent perfection that transcends the world, and the giving not grasped by non-objectivity is worldly. The difference between these two cannot be directly determined by those who have not attained the ultimate bodhisattva. Among them, the other shore is the opposite shore and edge of the ocean of samsara, that is, the Buddha who has abandoned all two obscurations. Reaching the other shore is the perfection. Here in the commentary it says that if there is a later word, it should not be hidden. With the definition of "not hiding," the difference of karma is not hidden, therefore it becomes form, or because it is Pṛṣodara, etc., it is established as having the ending of ma. The meaning of what is said in this way, Paṇḍita Jaya Ananta explains as follows: In the Indian language,

Regarding "the other shore," it is called *pāra*, and "gone" is called *itā*. When combining the two words, the second case singular suffix *am* is added to *pāra*. After *itā*, the first case suffix *su* is added, so when the words are combined as *pāra mra itā pāramitā*, even though *amra* and *su* become invisible, here, if there is a subsequent word, they should not be made invisible. Even though the root word of the sound makes *su* invisible, *am* is not made invisible. This characteristic, called the division of action, is the second case singular suffix *am*. Because it is not made invisible, it becomes the nature of the sound *pāramitā*. Among *pṛṣodara* and others, it is said that *pāra mra* has a feminine ending, and because it is pronounced as *pāra mra*, it should not be made invisible. It is said that the *a* of *amra* is removed, leaving *mra*, and when *i* is added, it becomes *mitā*. The first word *su* seems incorrect, so it should be examined whether it is *si*. Some Tibetans say that the Chinese word for "gone to the other shore" is *pāraṃ itā*, and when the head of the *ra* is placed in a row, it becomes *pāram itā*. When connecting, the *gi gu* of the letter *i* is given to *ma*, and it is said that the *a* is removed, so it becomes *mitā*. Although many such explanations of darkness appear, the explanation of the *paṇḍita* previously stated is better. Holding the wisdom that realizes the three circles of giver, giving, and recipient as non-objective with the two lines "giving, the object of giving," the giving *pāramitā* that is grasped by that is explained in detail. Those such as giving that are not grasped by that are called *pāramitā* because they are similar to the *pāramitā* grasped by wisdom. Even if it is not grasped by wisdom, it is dedicated to great enlightenment, so it is grasped, therefore, because it is placed as certain to go to the other shore, the name of giving *pāramitā* will be obtained. Therefore, regarding the meaning of "gone to the other shore," if "the other shore has gone here" is applied to the action, it is going to the place of the Buddha. If "this makes one go to the other shore" is applied to the agent, then there is *pāramitā* even on the path of learning. With the explanation of giving, one should understand both the separate and combined aspects of generating the mind of enlightenment, dedication, and being grasped by wisdom for ethics and so on as well. If one is attached to the three circles of giving, that is, if one develops a clinging to truth, then that giving is destroyed.
