The system of Samkhya that desires to understand. Having refuted self-origination as conceived outside the Buddhist system, even for worldly people who have not studied other philosophical systems, it is shown that understanding as arising from oneself is unreasonable. Because in any cause, that is, a seed, the fruit of that seed is seen. Even worldly people do not accept that seedlings and seeds are the same entity. The third point is that, from both the ultimate truth and the conventional aspect of the world, self-origination is contrary to reason. Therefore, this speculation that external and internal things arise from themselves is unreasonable in both the ultimate truth and the conventional aspect. Therefore, when the noble ones refute self-origination, they do not distinguish between the ultimate truth and the conventional truth, but universally refute self-origination, saying that it does not arise from itself. Therefore, the teacher Lekdenjye says that things do not arise from themselves in the ultimate truth, because they exist, like sentient beings. Therefore, it should be thought that the distinction he makes, "in the ultimate truth," is meaningless. The second point is that there are other faults as well. If it is thought that the fruit arises from itself, then the fruit to be produced, the cause that produces it, the action to be done, and the agent who does it will also become one and the same. Since they are not the same, self-origination should not be admitted, because this would lead to the faults extensively explained in this treatise and in the Root Wisdom. The first fault is that the Root Wisdom says, "Cause and effect being one, will never be reasonable. If cause and effect are one, then the producer and the produced will become one." It means that if the nature of cause and effect is the same, then father and son, or the eye and its consciousness, will also become one. The second fault is that the Root Wisdom says, "If the wood is fire, then the agent and the action will become one." When such a refutation is made, if it is said that the father and son and the agent and the action are also one in nature, that is acceptable. If it is said that they are universally one, that is not pervasive. Even so, if it is thought that the self-nature as described above is one, then it can also be deduced that the form is also one.

cannot be refuted by reason. Therefore, fearing the faults mentioned above, and wishing to realize the two truths without reversing them, one should not accept self-origination. Furthermore, existence and non-existence of origination from self, if one completely cuts off one without separately cutting off the other, it is a contradiction of non-existence, therefore origination from self
