I prostrate to the compassion for the earth, and I prostrate to the compassion that does not focus on dharma and objectives. First, because the fear of self-grasping gives rise to the fear of grasping at what is mine, these sentient beings, before the fear that appears weak between me and them, the fear of self-grasping thinks that the self, which is not inherently existent, is inherently existent, and therefore clings to the meaning of "I" itself as true. After that, the fear of grasping at what is mine, with respect to objects other than the object of self-grasping, that is, objects such as form and eyes that are not that, gives rise to the true attachment to what is mine, saying "this is mine." Like the spinning of a water bucket wheel, I prostrate to those who have compassion for beings who revolve without autonomy. This is the meaning of prostrating to compassion that is aimed at sentient beings. If you want to know how beings are like the wheel of a water bucket, then sentient beings and the wheel of a water bucket are similar and have similar aspects, which are the basis of difference. The way they are similar is that, just as there are six different dharmas such as being bound by ropes in the example, in reality, it is also shown to exist in one way. Then, the first difference is that this sentient world is very tightly bound by the ropes of karma and afflictions. This "is" also applies to the following five. The second is that, like the person who turns the water bucket wheel, it depends on being generated by consciousness to operate. The third is that, from the top of the great well of samsara, it revolves deeply and uninterruptedly until it reaches the uninterrupted hell. The fourth is that, going down to the lower realms does not require effort and goes naturally, while going up to the higher realms requires great effort to guide. The fifth is that, although there are the afflictions of ignorance and craving, and the karma of action and existence, as well as the three all-pervasive afflictions of the remaining seven branches of birth, the order of these three cannot be completely determined. The sixth is that, because they are tormented every day by the suffering of suffering, the suffering of change, and the pervasive suffering of conditioned existence, these beings are like the wheel of a water bucket.

This is not without being beyond the scope. Here, combining the common Dharma through the six special Dharmas is not merely for generating an understanding of how sentient beings wander in samsara. Then, how should it be? Previously, it was taught that those who wish to enter the Mahayana must first generate great compassion, but it was not explained how to generate compassion through cultivating what kind of Dharma. Therefore, here, by cultivating the way sentient beings wander in samsara without autonomy, it shows the method of generating great compassion. That is, By which author is it placed in samsara? It is this very mind that is extremely unpeaceful and untamed. Where and in what way does it wander? In this place from the peak of existence to the Avici hell, there is not even a moment of not wandering. By what kind of causes and conditions does it wander? By the power of karma and afflictions. That is, by the power of non-meritorious karma and its afflictions, it wanders in the lower realms, and by the power of meritorious and immovable karma and its afflictions, it wanders in the higher realms. Among them, the former is naturally inclined to strive for being born there, while the latter requires great effort to accomplish its causes, so it is difficult. As it is said in the Vinaya Basis: "To be reborn from the happy and unhappy realms to the unhappy realms is like the dust of the great earth; to be reborn from these two to the happy realms is like the dust picked up by the tip of a fingernail." At the moment of any one affliction of a single link of dependent origination, the other two afflictions of other links also intervene, so it does not cease. And, every day, one should contemplate being tormented more than once by the three sufferings like ripples of water. This is also because, if one first contemplates how oneself wanders in samsara, but does not produce any inner transformation, then, if one contemplates other sentient beings, since beginners cannot bear their suffering, as it is said in the commentary on the Four Hundred Verses, one should first contemplate oneself, and then cultivate other sentient beings. Then, can great compassion be induced merely by cultivating the way other sentient beings are tormented by all kinds of suffering in samsara? Or is another companion needed? Here, when seeing an enemy suffering, not only is there no intolerance, but there is joy
