The (nature) of the mind. The defilements born of desire are burned by the fire of wisdom, but that itself is not luminosity. Just as when a stone-woven cloth stained with dirt is put into the fire, the fire burns away the dirt but the cloth is not burned, so when the defilements of the mind are burned by the fire of wisdom, it is only the defilements that are burned, and the luminous mind does not disappear, so it is said. The samadhi wisdom of the Bodhisattva Arya and the samadhi wisdom of the Hearer-Solitary Realizer Arya are the same in directly realizing the nature of reality without being defiled by the habitual tendencies of ignorance. However, the difference between establishing and not establishing the Bhumi of the Bodhisattva Arya lies in whether or not they are dominated by great compassion, and whether or not they have the power of hundreds of thousands of qualities, etc. Furthermore, as mentioned earlier, in the stage of the accumulation path, regarding the meaning of the suchness of the two selflessnesses, through countless rational methods, the difference between directly realizing suchness or not depends on the degree of understanding of the profound meaning, and this difference is also very great. "As rain scatters" means that the wisdom with parts and without outflows, the only one whole, is gradually decomposed into various parts, and the previous and subsequent parts are transformed into various Bhumis. Bhumi means the place or basis of qualities, and it is so called because it is similar to the earth. These indicate that all ten Bhumis of ultimate truth are established on non-conceptual wisdom. However, the way of establishing the Joyful Bhumi and other Bhumis is the difference of establishing from four aspects. First, as the first Bhumi has hundreds of thousands of qualities, the second has thousands of thousands of qualities, etc., the number of qualities increases from low to high. The second difference is the difference of obtaining more and more extraordinary abilities. Although this is explained in shaking hundreds of thousands of worlds, etc., this is already included in the increase in the number of qualities. Therefore, it seems better to emphasize the increasing strength of purifying defilements and the strength of traveling the path (practice) in each Bhumi. The third is the difference of the perfection of generosity being superior in the first Bhumi, and the perfection of discipline being superior in the second Bhumi, etc. The fourth difference is that the first Bhumi rules Jambudvipa, and the second is reborn as a king ruling the four continents.

Etc., these maturing lives will progress more and more. Therefore, the non-discriminating wisdom of each ground has great differences in terms of the inferiority and superiority of its abilities, such as the number of merits, so the grounds are established separately. The subsequent merits of each ground must also be attributed to that ground, and not only to meditative equipoise. The grounds should be distinguished in this way. These ultimate truth grounds do not have distinctions made by the differences in the objects and aspects of their respective entities. As it says in the Sutra of the Ten Grounds: "Just as the tracks of birds in the sky, the wise cannot speak of, nor can they see, so too the grounds of the victorious ones' sons, cannot be spoken of, how much less can they be heard?" Just as when flying in the sky, after a bird has flown, worldly wise people cannot describe it with words, nor can they see it with wisdom, so too the ultimate truth grounds, like birds, even if they fly in the nature of reality like the sky, but the way they fly, As the noble ones experience it, even the speaker, the noble one, cannot speak of it, how much less can the listeners see and hear it as it is? The second part is divided into three: explaining the five grounds such as Joyful, explaining the sixth ground Manifest, and explaining the four grounds such as Far-Going. The first part is divided into five: explaining the first ground Joyful, the second ground Immaculate, the third ground Illuminating, the fourth ground Blazing Wisdom, and the fifth ground Very Difficult to Train. The first part is divided into three: briefly explaining the essence of the ground as the basis of characteristics, elaborating on the merits of the ground as characteristics, and concluding by narrating the merits of the ground. The first part is: the son of the Victorious One who abides on the first ground, in the manner previously described, seeing that beings are without inherent existence, grasping non-inherent existence as the characteristic of the object of compassion, the mind of this Bodhisattva, in order to liberate all beings from samsara, is completely controlled by great compassion, and through the power of the aspiration of the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra's conduct, completely dedicates all roots of virtue, the wisdom of non-duality named Joyful, approximately indicated by the number of its fruit merits, etc., the ultimate truth mind of the Bodhisattva who abides completely, is the first supramundane mind.
