Therefore, it is impossible to show the actual meaning arising from the example as the meaning of falsity itself. The meaning of what was said is that the three, object, faculty, and consciousness, being established by their own nature, is completely impossible even in a dream. It can be said that there should be no other thing in a dream other than the object of the form belonging to the dharma-sphere. At that time, it must also be admitted that the form itself exists. Since it is not contradictory for it to exist even in a dream, it is clear that Lekden has admitted that the form is established by its own characteristics, so this should be taken as the reason for its non-existence. If the Mind-Only school believes that there is no other thing than the form belonging to the outer sphere, can the example of a dream refute it? If, in order to refute it, they admit that the form is established by its own characteristics, then the Madhyamikas' use of the dream example to establish emptiness becomes meaningless. The dream is not false, but has a real meaning, because being established by its own characteristics is itself what arises from the example. Therefore, it is impossible to establish that the actual meaning it represents is false. Until self-establishment is negated, there is no concomitance between the example and the subject in establishing emptiness. Therefore, it was very good to answer earlier that in one's own system, everything that appears in a dream is not established by its own nature. Now, according to one's own system, are the forms that appear clearly in a dream considered to be forms belonging to the dharma-sphere, or not? Since there is no sense consciousness in a dream, the things that appear as the five objects appear only to the mind consciousness. Therefore, it is impossible to establish the five, such as the form sphere, there. However, on the level of mind-only, like a skeleton that appears clearly, it is similar to being destroyed as a dharma-sphere, so it is a form belonging to the dharma-sphere. And that is also the imputed form from among its five forms. Through this, many similar things should be understood. Third, because in a dream, all three that appear as object, faculty, and consciousness are not true, therefore, in order to thoroughly establish emptiness through dreams, and thereby establish other phenomena that have not been established as empty, it is said that even when awake, all phenomena will be established as being without inherent existence. Just like the object, faculty, and consciousness in a dream.

Just as things in a dream are false, similarly, these things are also false when awake. Therefore, the mind is not inherently existent. Likewise, the objects of the senses, such as forms, do not exist, and the senses themselves are not inherently produced. Therefore, the sutra says: 'Like the object of illusory beings, it appears, but it is not truly real. Like illusion, like a dream, such is the Dharma taught by the Sugata.' And it also says: 'The flow of beings is like a dream, in this there is no birth and no death. Beings, people, and life cannot be found, these dharmas are like bubbles and plantain trees.' And so on, will also be well explained. 'No one is born,' etc., like 'it appears, but it is not truly real,' like this, apply the distinction to what is to be refuted. These sutras explain that all dharmas are not established as they are, using the example of a dream, which is in accordance with Madhyamaka, but not in accordance with Cittamatra, therefore it is said that it will be well explained. Therefore, just as there is ignorant sleep in this world, but different from that, for some who have awakened from ordinary sleep, although not born from their own nature, but because of the sleep of ignorance, they are dreaming, in the presence of the object, all three exist. Similarly, for those who have not separated from sleep, who have not awakened, until then, for them, the three, object, senses, and consciousness, also exist. When one awakens from sleep, just as the three in a dream do not exist, when the sleep of delusion is exhausted, that is, completely eradicated, for the Buddhas who have realized the Dharmadhatu, the three also do not exist, therefore there is no consciousness without an external object. That is to say, in the face of seeing as it is, the three do not appear, but in the face of seeing as many as there are, although the object itself is not apparent due to being defiled by the habitual tendencies of ignorance, but the things that appear due to the consciousness of other people being defiled, through the way of appearing, appear to the Buddha, and are thus known. The second case is: if it is said that because a person with cataracts apprehends non-existent hairs, etc., therefore even without an external object, consciousness is inherently existent, that is also unreasonable. Why?
