From Ra. It is said, "Whatever merit is obtained from speaking about the beauty of the Nagarjuna system." Thus it appears. Fourth, the meaning of the conclusion has two aspects: Who was the author of the text, and who was the translator? First, the Madhyamakavatara, which clarifies the profound and vast nature of the Nagarjuna system, was composed by the great teacher Palden Chandrakirti, who was born in the land of Samanta, a vidyadhara, and renowned for attaining samadhi like an illusion, whose mind was completely devoted to the supreme of the unsurpassable vehicle, who possessed unsurpassed wisdom and compassion that could not be stolen by opposing forces, and who reversed the attachment to the truth of sentient beings by milking milk from a painted cow on a picture, thus the combination is complete. Second, in the city of Kashmir, in the unparalleled army, that is, in the center (present-day Kashmir region), in the temple where jewels are hidden, during the reign of the Kashmiri king Palpakpa Lha, the Indian abbot Tilaka Kalasha, that is, Drop-of-Vase, and the Tibetan translator Patsab Nyima Drak, translated it according to the Kashmiri model. Later, in Lhasa Ramoche Temple (present-day Lhasa Ramoche Temple), the Indian abbot Kanakavarma, that is, Golden Armor, and the same translator, compared it with the Neo-Eastern model, and after perfecting and revising it, established it through teaching and learning. Here, the common points from the author's colophon and the translator's colophon are compiled because it is assumed that the root text was translated separately and the root text in the commentary was combined and proofread. The essence of all the Buddha's scriptures, the profound Madhyamaka, The path of dependent arising, free from extremes. Just as prophesied, abandoning the two extremes and teaching, The noble Nagarjuna, who explained it as it is. His pure lineage, the noble Deva's, Although there are many systems of scholars explaining the intention, The one who completely explained it was the glorious Buddhapalita. The system of Chandrakirti and Shantideva, The door of the intention of the three accomplished masters. Unifying them and thoroughly determining the key points, With well-spoken words that are complete in expression, He made the supreme Prasangika system without blemish. In this northern region, even those who are devoted to this system, Do not use extremely subtle reasoning, Those who are less fortunate in the profound meaning, Without understanding it themselves, to the supreme system

Aspirational Verse: To dispel the stains of excessive views, to clarify the profound path for some fortunate ones, and also so that I may never be separated from this supreme path in all my lives, I have strived. May all beings, through the virtue arising from this effort, fully realize the essential points of the profound, diligently engage in practice day and night, and always please the Victorious Ones together with their offspring. Thus, this extensive commentary on Entering the Middle Way, called "Illuminating the Intent," was composed at Drepung Ganden Nampar Gyalwai Ling by the greatly learned monk of Shar Tsongkhapa, Lobsang Drakpa, a great Madhyamika yogi, because the virtuous friend Lhula Kachupa Master Pal offered a mandala of forty silver srangs and earnestly requested it, and also because many other virtuous friends who have great faith in this Dharma and possess no less intellectual capacity to understand its meaning earnestly requested that it be a complete explanation of the difficult points of the commentary, with clear words and meanings, and a comprehensive conclusion of the general meaning. Oṃ Svasti. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་སྭ་སྟི།, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ svasti, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, auspicious!) May this wondrous biography, which opens the sacred Dharma doors of the three vehicles, the essence of essences, the excellent garden of the profound Mahayana path, and from which the light of the crown ornament of the Father Lord (Tsongkhapa) shines forth with a smile, be truly amazing. May the fruits of immeasurable eons of accumulated virtuous deeds, through the power, ability, warmth, and moisture of excellent aspirations, cause the ripe and abundant ears of grain to droop low, and may the most excellent Dharma Lord of the collection of virtues be blessed. Through the pure merit and altruistic intention of the fortunate ones, may the excellent Madhyamika path, free from extremes, be clarified and the Illuminating the Intent be accomplished, with the power of three hundred in this life as a condition. May the force of the chariot of the wind of virtue from this effort cause all purity to move like the sun and moon, leaving traces of immeasurable Mahayana in the sky, and may self and others enjoy the glory of lasting happiness. May the cool breeze of hearing, thinking, and meditating blow upon that inexpressible and certain nature, drawing it forth from the Mālaya valley of the co-emergent innate mind, thereby pacifying the heat of dualistic grasping. May the lotus garden of the Victorious One's teachings, fragrant with benefit and happiness, with its blossoming petals of explanation and practice, and the essence of nectar of liberation, be spread from the great Dharma seat on Dege Lhundrub Teng (Dege Printing House in Dege County, Sichuan) for the benefit of all beings, like a rain of Dharma.
