Furthermore, it is said that the absence of phenomena in such a way is the ultimate truth. Regarding the way of engaging in conventional designations in accordance with the world, it is also found in the verses that accord with the Eastern Mountain School: If the world's guides do not act in accordance with the world, then what is the nature of the Buddha? No one will know the Buddha. Those who accept that the aggregates, elements, and sense bases are of the same nature, and who show the nature of the three realms, this is acting in accordance with the world. The nature of nameless phenomena, using names that cannot be conceived, is proclaimed to sentient beings, this is acting in accordance with the world. Showing the nature of non-existence, abiding in the Buddha's nature, there is no non-existence here, this is acting in accordance with the world. Not seeing meaning and meaninglessness, speaking of cessation and ultimate meaning, is the supreme of speakers, this is acting in accordance with the world. Without destruction and without birth, although becoming equal with the realm of phenomena, yet showing the eon of burning, this is acting in accordance with the world. In the three times, the nature of sentient beings is not an object of attachment, and also showing the realm of sentient beings, this is acting in accordance with the world. Thus, it is extensively said. The last verse of these verses shows the absence of self of the person who is empty of the nature of sentient beings, and the remaining verses show the absence of self of phenomena that are empty of the nature of phenomena, both existent and non-existent. And the Eastern Mountain School gradually separated from the Mahasanghika, as stated in the *Tarkajvala*, therefore, it seems that in the Vinaya Pitaka of the Sravakas, there is a teaching that very clearly shows the absence of inherent existence of phenomena. Second, specifically refuting the Mind-Only school's view, there are three points: refuting that consciousness, which lacks external objects, is established by its own nature; refuting the valid cognition that establishes the other-powered nature; explaining that the word "only" in Mind-Only does not negate external objects. The first point has two parts: stating the views of others and refuting those views. First, since the Mind-Only proponents cannot tolerate the Madhyamaka view as I have stated it, and they believe that it does not accord with the Buddha's intention, they establish meaning by stating their own views constructed by conceptual thought.

In order to clarify the rules as explained in the treatises of ི་, the former aspect is stated first. The bodhisattva on the sixth ground, who dwells in the supreme perfection of wisdom, that is, abides and meditates on it, through what reasoning does he realize the suchness without reversing it, and without further fabricating that the apprehended and the apprehender are different entities, and understands and sees, and comprehends, that is, realizes that suchness, and connects suchness with mere consciousness. That is, because there is no external form, the mind and mental factors are also external forms, in order to realize that they are meaningless, merely dependent arising phenomena, it is called realizing suchness in mere consciousness. Furthermore, how does this bodhisattva realize suchness in that way? Because this bodhisattva, with the reasoning that explains that form and other phenomena arise from the maturation of inner habitual tendencies, does not see that the mind has an object of apprehension that is a different entity from itself, nor does he see that there is something else that apprehends it apart from that, and thoroughly realizes that the three realms of existence are merely consciousness, thereby, he cultivates the suchness of the two emptinesses for a long time, and from that cultivation, he directly sees with self-awareness the object that cannot be expressed as suchness by language, that is, the nature of the two emptinesses, therefore, through the order of previous cultivation, the bodhisattva on the sixth ground will realize suchness in mere consciousness. If these are all mere consciousness without an external object, then how can mere consciousness with its image arise here without an external object? It is said, for example, the great ocean that serves as the basis for waves, is stirred by the wind, that is, completely agitated, from a state of immobility like sleep, just as water waves compete to obtain their own bodies, realizing that they flow completely, similarly, from the seed of all internal and external phenomena, called the alaya-consciousness, as attachment and faith and so on constantly cease, the habitual tendencies that mature by placing the abilities that correspond to oneself and subsequently on the alaya, thereby, an impure other-powered mere consciousness arises, and children grasp that the apprehended and the apprehender are separated internally and externally.
