Therefore, it reveals the harm to the exact opposite of sound, and the infinite accomplishment of the direct aspect, which proves that the meaning of the scripture cannot be interpreted in other ways, so only a little is said here. The second point is, if the birth established by its own nature does not exist in both truths, then forms and so on will not exist. If so, the nature of forms and so on will not become the object of eye consciousness and so on in the world. If not, then rabbit horns and so on will also appear as the object of eye consciousness and so on, because the reasons are exactly the same. The answer to this is: Empty things, that is, false images and so on, and echoes and so on, depend on the collection of causes and conditions such as mirrors, faces, rock caves, and making sounds, and their birth is not unknown in the world, but is known. Just as it is known in the world, from empty images and so on, that is, false things, eye consciousness and so on will arise with the appearance of images and so on. Similarly, from false images arises consciousness with a false appearance, just like this, even if all things are empty of self-established nature, empty fruits can arise excellently from empty causes. Here, it is said in the sutra that from the image arises the eye consciousness that holds it. Therefore, the image is a real thing, and it is different from consciousness in nature, so it is an external object, and it is also the objective condition of eye consciousness, so it is considered to be the birthplace of form. The same should be understood for double moons, hair disorders, illusions, etc., and echoes, etc. In this way, the face, double moons, and hair disorders, etc., that appear when the root consciousness is confused, are similar to the self-established nature that appears in the five consciousnesses that do not immediately harm the root. Faces, etc., although impossible to exist, appear there, which is similar to the self-established nature, although impossible to exist, appears there. Images and echoes, etc., are similar to forms and sounds, etc. Therefore, even if the five forms, etc., are not considered to be self-established external objects, the forms, etc., that appear as external objects
