Since it is so, it has been said before that it is truly established, and the fault cannot be eliminated by the reason that will be explained again in the future. Here, in the commentary, it says in the Ratnakuta Sutra, to the Well-Guarded, regarding the Dharma of the Middle Way, to properly and truly individually examine, it is not emptiness that makes the Dharma empty, but the Dharma itself is emptiness. And it quotes that the same is also declared for the signless, the wishless, the non-manifesting, the unborn, and the non-existent. If the Dharmas have a self-nature established by their own characteristics, then these Dharmas, since they have not become empty from themselves, therefore it is unreasonable to say that the Dharmas themselves are emptiness. If the existence of self-nature from oneself is not negated, then it must be shown that emptiness is empty by means of other things, therefore it contradicts the statement that emptiness does not make the Dharmas empty, so when the Middle Way individually examines the self-nature of the Dharmas, it shows that the Dharmas are empty because they are established by their own nature from themselves. This sutra also refutes the Yogacara view that other-nature is established by its own characteristics, so it is not empty, and that there is no substantial difference between the grasper and the grasped, so it is the view that it is empty. In the Shatashastra it says: 'Not empty, not full, not seen, may Nirvana become mine, wrong views do not arise, thus the Tathagatas say.' And in the Root Wisdom it says: 'The Buddhas have declared that all emptiness is to liberate those who are attached to emptiness, if one is attached to emptiness, that is not allowed by the Buddha.' It also explains the meaning of the previous sutra. The idea that all Dharmas are empty by their own nature is also the same, if the pot is not empty by the pot, but empty by the truth, that is other-emptiness, therefore saying that the pot is empty by the pot is self-emptiness, which is completely unreasonable, if the pot is empty by the pot, then there must be no pot on the pot, if oneself does not exist for oneself, then it does not exist for anything else, therefore the pot will completely not exist. At that time, all other things are also the same, therefore the person who says this will also not exist, and the concept of this is empty and this is not empty will also be completely impossible. Some people think that this emptiness is correct, while others think that it is annihilationist emptiness, both of these views are free from the extremes of dependent origination and permanence and annihilation.

On the objects, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have established it many times, therefore it is an outsider. In particular, it is said that all conventional truths must be determined to be empty by themselves. If it is thought that it is annihilation emptiness, it is unreasonable. Because among the four schools, anyone knows that that view is a nihilistic view, so no one will cultivate it in their own continuum. Therefore, the thing that is the basis of refutation does not exist in the nature of the thing to be refuted, and the way in which that basis is refuted is also emptiness, similarly, the emptiness of phenomena established by their own nature means emptiness of self-nature. The reason why other ways of emptiness are not emptiness of self-nature is that, during the period when the previous way of emptiness is established by valid cognition and its function has not disappeared, it is impossible for sects to arise with the clinging that the basis is true or exists in its meaning. Even if the meaning of the latter is established by valid cognition and its function has not disappeared, it is not contradictory for sects to cling to truth or the meaning of truth. The second point is that what is said here is that because there is no arising in the ultimate sense, it depends on refuting arising from self and other. However, the nature of things such as form and feeling, which are perceived by the two valid cognitions, will undoubtedly arise from others. If it is not thought like this, why say two truths, it will become one truth. Therefore, some say that there is arising from others. Those who refute like this seem to be some Svatantrika Madhyamikas who think that there is no arising in the ultimate sense, but want other-arising in conventional terms. If other-arising by self-nature is not considered conventional, it will become one truth, meaning that if self-nature arising does not exist in conventional terms, then true conventional will not exist. At that time, since it is impossible to have conventional truth, it will become the meaning of only ultimate truth. As a reply to that answer, this is true, but there are not two truths in the ultimate sense, because the sutra says: Bhikshus, this ultimate truth is only one, that is, the non-deceptive nature of Nirvana. All formations are false, having the nature of deception. The meaning of these words is that the meaning of the truth that one promises is non-deceptive, therefore it is non-deceptive.
