My view is that if conventional truth is established, then ultimate truth is refuted, which is an ignorant statement. The ultimate reality of the Buddhas is indeed the very nature itself, and it is the ultimate truth by its very infallibility. This is to be realized individually by those Buddhas themselves. So it is said. The word 'itself' in 'the very nature itself' is for emphasis, and what it excludes is that the ultimate truth of other noble ones is the nature of non-appearance in equipoise and the nature of appearance in subsequent attainment, but it is not established in such a rotating manner, but refers to the dharma nature that is constantly abiding in the nature itself. The meaning of 'that also' etc. is that in order to show that the truth of ultimate truth is not truly established, therefore, in the state of seeing that very emptiness, the establishment of infallible existence is explained as the meaning of truth. Secondly, there are two parts: explaining the meaning of the root words, and refuting the arguments against it. Firstly, because it is intended to reveal the ultimate truth, but the ultimate truth cannot be expressed in words, and because it is not the object of consciousness that follows after the sound, it cannot be directly revealed, so in order to clarify its nature to those who wish to hear it, an analogy experienced by ordinary people themselves is given. As it is said, the meaning of not being the object of knowledge and expression is as it is said 'cannot be directly revealed'. Also, in the translation of Naktsö, it says 'cannot be manifestly revealed'. Its meaning is that the meaning of that very emptiness cannot be known from elsewhere, as it is said in the commentary 'Clear Words': 'Just as those with cataracts see the nature of hair and other things reversed, although those without cataracts have indicated it, yet like those without cataracts, they do not see the nature of hair and other things, so they cannot understand it as it is.' Thus, although those without cataracts indicate to those with cataracts that there is no hair, they cannot understand the absence of hair as seen by those without cataracts. Although the listener cannot understand it in this way, it is not that they cannot understand the absence of hair. Using this as an analogy, when revealing emptiness, although one cannot understand a similar state seen as being free from the obscuration of the cataract of ignorance, generally speaking, that very emptiness.

Therefore, they consider that this is not a lack of understanding. The ultimate truth is the definitive scriptures with profound meaning, and it is not that it cannot be expressed by the words that explain it, nor can it be understood by the wisdom that follows it. Know that all statements that say "merely the meaning of that entity itself is not the object of knowledge and expression" should be understood in the same way. Due to the power of being deceived by cataracts, when a person with cataracts sees hairs and bees etc. in his own coral etc. food container in his hand, if he distinguishes that the nature of hairs and bees etc. is inverted, wanting to eliminate it, he will realize that repeatedly wiping that container is futile. When a clean, cataract-free eye approaches him, even if he casts his gaze on the place where the very nature of the hairs etc. appears, he will not be able to discern the shape of the hairs, nor will he discriminate the support of the hairs, that is, any special dharma. Also, when a person with cataracts says to a person without cataracts, "I see hairs,"

In short, if the Buddha does not see the conventional truths such as aggregates that appear to the mind defiled by ignorance, then these phenomena will not exist. If they exist, then the Buddha must see them. If the conventional truths such as aggregates do not exist, then the attainment of Buddhahood will also not exist, because the person who first generates Bodhicitta is defiled by ignorance. If someone thinks this way, then to explain that there is no such fault, there are two ways in which the Buddha's wisdom knows the knowable: the way of knowing all ultimate truths and the way of knowing all conventional truths. The first is: knowing the suchness of the aggregates, etc., without seeing the appearances of conventional truths. The second is: because it is not possible to establish inference that is not apparent but can be understood on the Buddha, it must be apparent before it can be known. Therefore, in the presence of the knowledge of all things, it is known in the way that the object and the subject appear as two. Although the Buddha's knowledge of all things is not defiled by the habits of ignorance and does not appear as aggregates, etc., the aggregates, etc., that appear to the minds of other beings defiled by ignorance must be seen by the Buddha, because this appearance is inevitable, and if the conventional exists, then the knowledge of all things must perceive it. For the eye consciousness without cataracts, although there is no appearance of hair falling that is seen by those with cataracts, this appearance is not unnecessary, so it is different from the Buddha. Before the habits of dualistic delusion are exhausted, the two, suchness and suchness of all things, cannot arise simultaneously in the same entity, so it is necessary to alternately realize equality and subsequence. Therefore, it is impossible to realize the two in one moment of wisdom. When the habits of delusion are completely abandoned, in each moment of wisdom, the two wisdoms arise in the same entity, continuously, so there is no need to alternately realize whether the two knowable objects are simultaneously directly perceived. Therefore, the saying, "With one moment of knowing, pervading the entire wheel of knowable objects," is also not contradictory. Although the two wisdoms are the same entity, there is no contradiction in the appearance of two different ways of knowing that depend on the two objects. This is the unique characteristic of the one Buddha, the Bhagavan.
