Because it is clearly stated that "will completely accomplish suchness as it is." The reason why even admitting such a thing to be proven and a means of proof does not turn into a Svatantrika is that it has been explained in detail elsewhere many times, so I will not elaborate. So, what are the characteristics of the two negations? In general, negation is to be understood after the object to be negated is actually cut off by the mind. Therefore, like cutting off non-self, merely cutting off the object to be negated on the object is not negation. Like the nature of phenomena and the ultimate truth, even if the words do not actually cut off the object to be negated, but its meaning appears in the mind, those that appear in the form of cutting off elaboration are negations. Among them, non-affirming negation is when the mind actually cuts off the object to be negated and does not bring out or establish other dharmas. For example, when a Brahmin asks whether it is permissible to drink alcohol, the answer is "I do not drink alcohol," which is only a complete cutting off of the act of drinking alcohol, but it does not establish that other drinks can or cannot be drunk. Affirming negation is when the mind cuts off the object to be negated and brings out or establishes other dharmas. For example, when one wants to show someone as a low caste, saying "This is not a Brahmin" is not merely negating the Brahmin, but it establishes that he is other than a Brahmin, a low caste inferior to a Brahmin in terms of learning and so on. There are three ways to bring out other dharmas: directly, indirectly, and according to circumstances. The first is like "selflessness exists," where both cutting off the object to be negated and bringing out other dharmas are established in one sentence. The second is like "the sacrificer does not eat black food during the day," which is expressed by meaning. These two are single cases of direct and indirect bringing out, and the combination of both is like "the sacrificer does not eat black food during the day and is not thin." The third is when a person is determined to be either a king or a Brahmin, but his specific characteristics are not yet determined, saying "This is not a Brahmin," which is not expressed in one's own words, as quoted in the commentary on the Lamp of Wisdom: Negation is expressed by meaning, one word establishes, possessing these and not expressing in one's own words, affirming negation is other, other is. Some say that if it is established together with the basis, it is not a non-affirming negation, which is unreasonable, because Brahmin is established, so Brahmin does not drink alcohol is a negation.

Because it does not prevent merely being a cessation of action. For example, the fact that sound is manifest does not prevent the fact that sound is impermanent and hidden. Others say that when the base and aggregates are together, other dharmas are abandoned, which is also unreasonable. For example, a Brahmin is the basis for calculating whether or not other dharmas are abandoned, but is not the other dharma that is abandoned. Therefore, the vow of the noble ones is placed on this basis: the result does not arise from its own nature; nor does it arise from other causes established by its own characteristics, how could it arise? That is non-existent; nor does it arise from both self and other; without a cause, how could there be arising? That is non-existent. If things exist established by their own nature, then they are necessarily pervaded by any of the four kinds of arising. Because self-arising can be determined to be either with or without cause, and with cause can be determined to be three kinds of arising from self, other, and both together, therefore four vows are sufficient. The second (chapter) has four (parts): refuting self-arising, refuting other-arising, refuting arising from both, refuting arising without cause. The first (part) has two (aspects): refuting with the reasoning of the commentary, refuting with the reasoning of the Fundamental Wisdom. The first (aspect) has three (parts): refuting the views of the sectarian teachers who want to realize Suchness, showing that it does not exist even in conventional terms that have not been transformed by sectarianism, and summarizing the meaning of the above refutations. The first (part) has two (aspects): refuting arising from a cause that is the same entity as oneself, and refuting that the cause and result are the same entity. The first (aspect) has three (parts): if arising from a cause that is the same entity, it would entail meaninglessness; if arising from the same entity, it would contradict reason; and refuting the answers to those objections. The first (part) is: From what reason is it certain that things do not arise from themselves? The sprout that is arising, the agent of the act of arising, if it arises from its own entity, then there is no additional quality that needs to arise in order to arise in this way, because the very entity of the sprout has already been obtained from the previous causal stage. In this regard, the Samkhyas believe that for causes and conditions that are mutually distinct, there is one common result, and that it is not permissible for the causes and conditions not to be followed by one chief entity with the same nature.
