Because it arises from this, it will also cause all beings to truly see the nature of things as they are. Therefore, due to their thoughts, the essence of all false things exists only in the conventional. Thus it is said. This up to "that is" refers to the meaning of mistaking things that are inherently without self-nature in the ultimate for being existent in the ultimate. From "conventional" to "return" refers to the true conventional, that is, using the conventional as a veil, thereby obscuring the truth. Because it arises from clinging to truth, clinging to truth appears as if it truly exists, which is a conceptual thought, not a root consciousness. Because in the explanation of the two truths, the truth to be refuted does not appear to the root consciousness, it is the same here. From "that also" to "arise" indicates that clinging to truth is innate. Therefore, it is said "for all beings." The thoughts of those beings are not only conceptual thoughts, but also include non-conceptual consciousness. Due to the influence of these two, things that are considered to exist, but are actually false things that do not exist in the ultimate, exist only in the conventional, which is the meaning of "the arising of things is all conventional." But this does not refer to the conventional existence of clinging to truth. If this is done, then what appears to the mind, or is not established by the influence of the mind, but is the way things themselves exist, that is, truth, ultimate, truly existent, and clinging to this, is the innate clinging to truth. Then, from the appearance, the statement "there is no arising in the ultimate" would become the explanation that "these are not produced by correct consciousness." Thus it is said, through the meaning of what is said, how is existence and arising in the ultimate explained as being established as arising and existence through the intellect that enters into suchness? Indeed, for the object to be refuted, it is necessary to add the distinction of the ultimate, so it is necessary to understand two kinds of ultimate. Regarding the three kinds of intellect of hearing, thinking, and meditation as the ultimate, thereby, as previously stated, there are things that have not been established. And what is not established by the influence of the mind, but is the way things themselves exist, for the two that are considered to be ultimately existent, the first ultimate and what is established in its presence exist, while the latter ultimate and the two that exist in it are both impossible. Therefore, the latter kind of ultimat

Although what exists in "is" is universally present in the previous ultimate truth, the previous grasping of "being" is not an innate grasping of truth, and the grasping of its truth requires the later grasping of "being." If this is not distinguished, the measure of what is to be refuted is unbearable for rational analysis, and many grasps arise for what is analyzable. Because of this, the truth of ultimate truth is not established as the basis, and many errors seem to occur in thinking that truth is established. If this is well understood, one can understand that saying that there is no nature and no ultimate truth, and also thinking that there is a nature of phenomena and that itself is nature and ultimate truth, these key points are not contradictory. The second point is, in order to know how existence is established and not established by the power of mind, it is praised to know through the example of illusion, then explain it. When a magician transforms pebbles, wood, etc. into horses and cattle, for the magician and the spectators whose eyes are deceived, and the three whose eyes are not deceived, the first case is that there is only the appearance of horses and cattle, but there is no attachment to it. The second case is that there is both appearance and attachment to it. The third case is that there is neither the appearance of horses and cattle nor the attachment to it. When the basis of transformation appears as horses and cattle, for example, when a rope is mistaken for a snake, it is like saying that in the face of that consciousness the rope is a snake, but in general it is not a snake. Consciousness only appears as horses and cattle in the face of delusion, but in general it cannot be said that the basis of transformation does not appear as horses and cattle. Even if it is not combined in that particular way, it must be admitted that the basis of transformation appears as horses and cattle, because if it is not so now, it will be impossible to have illusion about appearance. Therefore, being able to establish the basis of transformation as appearing as horses and cattle, like a magician, is established by the power of the delusion of consciousness appearing in that way. It is not so, it is not established by the power of the way the basis of transformation itself exists. For the spectators, appearing as horses and cattle, it does not occur to them that it is established by the inner consciousness, but they think that at the basis of appearance, there is something with the nature of horses and cattle sitting occupying the position of the object. This is the way to understand what is established and not established by the power of mind through the example, when it appears on that basis, there are two situations, that is, existing according to the way it appears and not existing according to the way it appears. If this is well understood, then when measuring what is to be measured by the power of valid cognition, because valid cognition is also consciousness, it will...
