Having departed, one who has practiced the six perfections for hundreds of thousands of eons, if someone listens to this category of Dharma with doubt, the merit they generate is far greater than that, what need to mention listening without doubt? What need to mention writing it down, reciting it, and extensively explaining it to others? Thus it was said. Also, in the Diamond Cutter Sutra, the Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? If there were as many Ganges Rivers as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River, would the grains of sand in those rivers be many? Subhuti replied: Blessed One, the Ganges Rivers themselves, as many as the grains of sand in the Ganges River, are very many, what need to mention the grains of sand in them? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, I tell you, you should understand. If there were as many world realms as there are grains of sand in those Ganges Rivers, and a man or woman filled them with the seven precious jewels and gave them as offerings to the Thus-Gone One, would that man or woman generate more merit than that basis? Subhuti replied: Blessed One, much more, Well-Gone One, much more. The Blessed One said: If someone, from this category of Dharma, even takes up a four-line verse and teaches it to others, they will generate much more merit than that. Thus it was said. In the Sutra of the Treasury of the Thus-Gone One, after enumerating the ten great non-virtues, it is said that those who are endowed with them, if they enter the Dharma of selflessness and have faith and aspiration that all Dharmas are primordially pure, those sentient beings will not go to the lower realms. In the chapter on Subduing Mara, if a monk knows that all Dharmas are extremely gentle, and also knows that the beginning and end of all faults are naturally empty, and eliminates the regret arising from faults and does not hold firm, then they can suppress even the uninterrupted crimes, what need to mention minor faults of wrongly entering rituals and discipline? Thus it was said. In the Sutra of Ajatashatru, if someone who commits uninterrupted crimes hears this holy Dharma and enters into it and believes in it, I do not say that their karma is a karmic obscuration. Thus it was said.

Engaging in teaching and learning, and even at other times, it is beneficial to have faith and understanding in the profound meaning. To properly obtain the benefits of teaching, two things are necessary: first, a pure motivation that does not seek gain, honor, or fame; and second, when teaching the Dharma, one must not misunderstand its meaning, but teach it accurately and without error. If the teacher possesses either of these two faults, it will obstruct many merits, therefore (it is said). As stated by Master Vasubandhu: Therefore, those who teach the Dharma incorrectly, and those who teach with a mind filled with afflictions, seeking gain, honor, and fame, they will cause their own great merit to decline. The same applies here. For the listener as well, a pure motivation for listening and not misunderstanding the meaning are important. Therefore, both parties should possess at least one qualification during teaching and learning. Fifth, there are three points: the manner of showing the true meaning through scriptural authority; establishing the meaning of the scriptural authority through reasoning; and explaining the divisions of emptiness established thereby. The first point has two parts: citing the manner in which it is spoken in the scriptures; and identifying the opposing aspects to knowing suchness. The first is: As stated in the Dashabhumika Sutra: When the fifth bhumi enters the sixth bhumi, it enters through ten kinds of Dharma equality. What are the ten? They are as follows: all dharmas are equal in being without characteristics, all dharmas are equal in being without self-nature, similarly, without birth, unarisen, solitary, primordially pure, without elaboration, without acceptance, and without rejection are equal; all dharmas are equal as illusion, dream, mirage, echo, moon in water, reflection, and emanation; all dharmas are equal in being neither existent nor non-existent. When the nature of all dharmas is now fully realized, then with sharp and compliant forbearance, the sixth bodhisattva bhumi is manifestly attained. Thus it is said. The "similarly" there refers to connecting "all dharmas" to "without acceptance or rejection." Those two are one equality, and the seven equalities like illusion, etc., should be regarded as one equality, and the last two should also be regarded as one.
