To show the ground, the Four Noble Truths are explained, and among them, the truths of suffering, origin, and path are conventional truths, while the truth of cessation is the ultimate truth, as explained in the commentaries. In the commentary on the "Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning," it is also said that Nirvana is the ultimate truth, and the other three truths are conventional truths, with Nirvana being the truth of cessation. Furthermore, in the commentary on the "Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning," it is asserted that the truth of cessation is known directly. For those who assert the existence of things with intrinsic nature, direct perception is considered to have objects with intrinsic nature, which is not acceptable. According to our own system, the direct knowledge of cessation is established through the wisdom of stainless meditative equipoise, based on the realization of the meaning of suchness. If the truth of cessation were a conventional truth, then these assertions would be completely untenable. Moreover, when Nirvana is realized, one must strive to directly realize the meaning of suchness. Therefore, asserting that the truth of cessation is a conventional truth is inconclusive. Although cutting off the object to be refuted as truly existent on some basis can be considered the ultimate truth, it is not necessarily the case that all objects to be refuted in the ultimate truth cannot be objects of knowledge, as it is not all-pervasive. As stated in the "Praise of the Dharmadhatu": "If one does not fully know, One revolves in the three realms, Dwelling constantly in all, Beings' minds, I prostrate to the essence of Dharma. Whatever is the cause of samsara, That itself, when practiced, Purified, is Nirvana, That itself is also the Dharmakaya." Thus, as stated in the scriptures, the nature of phenomena, when purified of its defilements, becomes Nirvana and the Dharmakaya. Because there are many scriptures that say the object to be refuted in the pure nature of phenomena is defilement. If it is impossible for the nature of phenomena to become stainless, then effort would become fruitless, and if it exists, then its object to be refuted would be in the objects of knowledge. For example, although the object to be refuted, the rabbit's horn, cannot exist in the objects of knowledge, it is like how the non-existence of a pot, which is the object to be refuted existing in the objects of knowledge, can be established as the non-existence of a rabbit's horn. If we consider it from the perspective of the nature of phenomena that pervades both pure and impure phenomena, like the negation of the two selves, although it only negates what is impossible to exist in the objects of knowledge, when the phenomena gradually become purer from defilements, their nature also gradually becomes purer from defilements.

If it is said that for those with special dharmas, it is not enough to have purity of dharma nature on one aspect alone. It is also necessary to purify the sudden defilements in each situation, and this is called the Truth of Cessation. In the ten bhumis, many names of truths such as being skilled in the Truth of Characteristics appear in this bhumi. However, these are not included in the two truths. In the extensive commentary on Entering the Middle Way, "Manifestation of Excellent Thought," is the explanation of the fifth ultimate bodhicitta. Second, the explanation of the sixth bhumi, Manifestation, is divided into four parts: the definition of the bhumi and the more excellent display of prajnaparamita; praise of the perfection of wisdom; explanation of the suchness of profound dependent arising; and concluding with the statement of the qualities of the bhumi. The first part is: In the fifth bhumi, having attained the complete purification of the dhyana paramita, the sixth bhumi manifests, that is, abiding in the mind of samadhi which has become excellent. Relying on it, the bodhisattva abiding in the sixth bhumi is able to see the profound suchness of merely this cause of dependent arising. Therefore, abiding in the excellent prajnaparamita, cessation will be attained. But before that, in the fifth bhumi, etc., cessation is not attained, because there is no excellent prajnaparamita. Merely the excellence of the five paramitas such as generosity cannot attain cessation. Therefore, through the excellence of wisdom, the dharma nature similar to an image manifests, and in the fifth bhumi, focusing on the Truth of the Path, and in order to attain the Dharma of the Perfect Buddha, this bhumi is called Manifestation. The meaning of the second reason is stated in the commentary, although it explains that the path of non-attachment to knowledge and the knowable manifests, but in the fifth bhumi, focusing on the Truth of the Path is because the last of the four truths is mentioned, therefore, there one obtains the knowledge of being skilled in the gross and subtle four truths. Therefore, the sixth bhumi is the meaning of the perfection of wisdom in being skilled in the four truths. The first reason is that by showing the completion of the learning of wisdom in being skilled in the arising and reversing of dependent arising, through the completion of those two learnings of wisdom, it is the meaning of the manifestation of truth and dependent arising.
