Here, one obtains the practice of samadhi that is superior to all previous ones, so it is mentioned because of the great doubt as to whether it arises from its power. Here, one obtains the cessation of desire and hatred. The word "and" has the meaning of "also," in order to include the cessation of ignorance, which was not mentioned. The meaning of cessation is not complete cessation, because the sutra itself says, "All four bonds of desire, form, existence, and ignorance are weakened." According to the meaning of these, according to the view of the Bodhisattva-bhumi, through the power of worldly meditation and formless samadhi, one is separated from attachment to desire, form, and the formless realm, which is the previously mentioned abandonment of manifestation. Therefore, it is evident that it is said to be "weakened." The bonds are also evidently explained from the Abhidharma. Here, the sutra says, "The bonds that have become its view have already been abandoned." Although some explain that this refers to the abandonment of the last three views on the path of seeing, it should be understood that the five conceptual views are abandoned on the first ground. The Bodhisattva-bhumi says, "This is the very ground that was initially practiced by the ancestors, because of faith in the suchness of reality, the bonds that have become its view have been abandoned." After that, the sutra says, "False desire, hatred, and ignorance, which cannot be diminished in hundreds of millions of eons, are abandoned on this ground." This refers to the abandonment of seeds. That is, it refers to the objects to be abandoned on this ground, which are the six major and minor innate afflictions to be abandoned by meditation from the second to the seventh ground. Although the commentators did not clearly state that conceptual afflictions are abandoned from the first ground and innate afflictions are abandoned from the second ground, until the eighth ground is attained, the seeds of all afflictions are not exhausted, and holding to reality is regarded as an affliction, and until holding to reality is not exhausted, the view of self will not cease, and the Garland of Jewels also says that the three fetters are abandoned on the first ground. Therefore, in general, afflictions need to be divided into two types, and in particular, the view of self needs to be divided into two types, which is very clear. In this system of regarding holding to reality as an affliction, if afflictions are abandoned by the uncontaminated path, then the seed of each holding to reality needs to be abandoned, therefore, the dualistic appearance other than that seed

Since even a single aspect of the mistaken habitual patterns placed in the obscuration of knowledge cannot be completely exhausted, the obscuration of knowledge cannot be abandoned until all afflictions are exhausted. Therefore, the obscuration of knowledge is abandoned during the third pure ground. Those who abide on the third ground mostly become the lord of the gods, Indra. They are constantly skilled at destroying the attachment to desire of sentient beings in the world, and as the main ones, they are skilled at liberating sentient beings from the mire of desire. Regarding the use of the word "also," as it appears in the translation of Naktsö, such as "the attachment to desire is also constantly abandoned," it is correct. Third, now to clearly explain the differences in the supports of the first three perfections (generosity, discipline, patience), the nature of the accumulations, and the exposition of what fruit is accomplished: Both lay and ordained Bodhisattvas can be the support for generosity, etc., but in terms of the ease or difficulty of practice, it is easier for lay Bodhisattvas to practice these three dharmas of generosity, etc. Therefore, the Sugata praises them as the support. Among the two accumulations, the accumulation called merit is also these three. This accumulation is the cause of the form body, the nature of the form body of the Buddha, which is mainly emphasized. The Ratnavali also says: "There, generosity and discipline, and the dharma of patience are especially superior. It is said of householders that those with compassion, those with essence, should be steadfast." Thus it is said. It is easy for lay Bodhisattvas to practice the three dharmas, namely, generosity is the generosity of wealth and fearlessness, discipline is the discipline of the household, and patience is mainly to generate conviction in the Dharma. For ordained Bodhisattvas, diligence, meditation, and wisdom are easy to practice, but this does not mean that they do not have other qualities. The accumulation of wisdom is meditation and wisdom, and these two are mainly the cause of the Dharmakaya, while diligence is the cause of both accumulations. Fourth, the Bodhisattva called the "Light-Making Ground" who abides on the sun, can completely illuminate the darkness of ignorance belonging to his own continuum, and those who become obstacles to the arising of ultimate truth, when this ground first arises, and clearly shows this state to others, thereby benefiting beings.
