Some tend to become Buddhas, some paths tend to the Bodhi of Pratyekabuddhas, some tend to the Bodhi of Shravakas, and some tend to the realms of pretas, animals, gods, humans, and hells. Through these, various paths such as the correct and incorrect paths of certainty are shown. For these paths, unobstructed knowledge is boundless, which is considered the power of knowing all paths. The distinctions of yogis existing in the boundless world, that is, the various boundless distinctions thoroughly distinguished by distinctions, the four dhyanas, the eight liberations, and which are the stillnesses, which are the samadhis (Sanskrit Devanagari: samādhi, Sanskrit Romanization: samādhi, Chinese literal meaning: concentration), and the distinctions of entering into absorption, which become one and eight, that is, the nine successive absorptions of gradual abiding, for all these purifications, unobstructed knowledge, this is said to be the power of knowing all afflictions and purifications. As long as ignorance exists, then existence, that is, when abiding in the beginningless existence transmitted from one to another, in the past time, the existence of each self and other sentient beings, however many there are, that many boundless sentient beings, remembering with the basis, that is, the cause, and remembering oneself and others becoming such and such colors, is remembering with form, and remembering being born in such and such stillness, is remembering with location, that is, for those objects of remembrance, whatever unobstructed wisdom there is, that is said to be the power of remembering former abodes. The death of each of the sentient beings and, the birth of the aggregate continuum, whichever abides in the world at the edge of space, adorned by various skillful works of karma, at that time, with wisdom all kinds completely pure and unattached, that is, entering without obstruction, knowing the boundless object, is considered the power of knowing death and birth. The power of the victors who know all kinds, the afflictions such as attachment, together with all the habitual tendencies are destroyed, that is, the transformation of destruction, and the Pratyekabuddhas gathered by disciples, Shravakas, etc., with wisdom, that is, undefiled wisdom, to prevent afflictions, that is, to abandon.

Regarding that, the arising of wisdom, which is unobstructed, is considered the power of infinite, exhausted-defilements wisdom. The term "quickly" indicates that the extremely subtle remaining habitual imprints are abandoned in a single instant of the Buddha's wisdom. Here, the habitual imprints of afflictions, as stated in the commentary: "Whatever pollutes and instructs the mind-stream, and follows after, that is the habitual imprint; the ultimate of afflictions, habituation, root, and habitual imprint are different names." It is said that although Hearers and Solitary Realizers Arhats abandon afflictions, they cannot abandon that habitual imprint. Also, in that same text, it says: "For that, the habitual imprint of ignorance becomes an obstacle to completely severing the knowable." Thus, it is also stated as the obscuration of knowledge. In this system, grasping at the self of phenomena is considered an affliction, therefore, the main obscuration of knowledge must be the habitual imprint of dualistic appearance delusion. This is because the noble fathers and sons have not clearly explained the definition of the obscuration of knowledge elsewhere, so one should firmly rely on what is said here. Furthermore, in the commentary, it says: "The habitual imprints of ignorance and desire, etc., only cease in the All-Knowing and the Buddha, but not in others." Thus, the seeds of afflictions of Hearers, Solitary Realizers Arhats, and those from the eighth ground onwards who are said to have exhausted the seeds of afflictions, are not the same as the habitual imprints of afflictions explained here. This extremely subtle habitual imprint refers to the simultaneous occurrence of the last uninterrupted path of the ten grounds continuum turning towards arising and the extremely subtle cessation turning towards ceasing. The liberation path that initially abandons it is the first instant of the Buddha's wisdom. Therefore, it is said to be destroyed by the power of the All-Knowing. Thus, it is said that all knowable things are known by the powers, which is manifest. Since the Buddha's direct perception cannot be inferred by force, it must be known by appearance. Moreover, knowing without the appearance of aspects is not the view of this system, as clearly explained in the commentary on the Sixty Stanzas of Reasoning. Therefore, measuring the present with direct perception does not mean measuring the past and future by force. This is also like the sun today, in this present time, relative to its past and future.
