is the nature of Dharma. Whether the Tathagatas appear or not, this realm of Dharma remains as it is. Thus, all dharmas are emptiness, and all dharmas are without characteristics. With this, the Tathagatas are not to be distinguished in a small way, but all the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas also attain this nature of non-conceptualization. Thus it is said. If the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, did not lead those Bodhisattvas into the gates of directly realizing the wisdom of all-knowingness, then they would enter into Nirvana at that very moment, and the benefit of all sentient beings would also be cut off. Thus it is said. They, having obtained mastery over non-conceptual wisdom on the eighth ground, and having remained in equipoise only on that, arising from that, urge to accumulate merit in the post-meditation period as a cause for obtaining the powers of the Buddha, and say that even Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas can obtain the non-conceptual wisdom that directly realizes the nature of Dharma. If there is realization of that very reality, then there is no need to strive to accumulate other merits, but it is enough to become familiar with that alone, saying so is the babble of the unwise. Secondly, for what reason do the Buddhas arise from cessation on this eighth ground, therefore on this ground, the mind without attachment, that is, wisdom, does not dwell together with the faults of afflictions such as attachment, etc. On the eighth ground, the sun of non-conceptual wisdom rises, and the stains like darkness, that is, afflictions, which arose earlier and became the cause of rebirth in samsara, all those who act in the three realms are also pacified, that is, abandoned, together with their roots, that is, seeds. Thus, although all afflictions are exhausted and one becomes the supreme of the three grounds, that is, the three realms, this Bodhisattva, in that state of exhaustion of afflictions, is not able to obtain all the qualities and wealth of the Buddhas, which are boundless like the sky. In order to obtain that, this eighth ground practitioner must strive. If one asks how one knows that all afflictions are exhausted on this ground, the tenth ground sutra says: 'Here, at that very moment, he will enter into Nirvana.' Therefore, on this ground

Indeed, it is only when the mind is free from desire for the three realms that it exists. For if afflictions are severed, but desire is not abandoned, then nirvana cannot be realized. Third, if in this ground one is free from desire for the three realms, then the cycle of rebirth will cease. How then can this one perfect all the dharmas that are the cause of buddhahood? Answer: Although the eighth-ground being's revolving in samsara due to the power of karma and afflictions does not cease, upon attaining this ground, one will obtain the ten powers such as mastery over wisdom. With these ten powers, this bodhisattva, as explained in the Garland of Jewels Sutra, through the mind-made body, will show various forms of his own being to beings in existence. Therefore, it is not contradictory that this one's accumulation will be perfected. The ten powers are: by blessing the measure of life for inexpressible inexpressible eons, one obtains mastery over life. By the certainty of samadhi, by the entry of immeasurable wisdom, one obtains mastery over mind. By showing the blessing of being adorned with various ornaments in all realms of the world, one obtains mastery over resources. By the blessing of the ripening of karma, showing the time as it is, one obtains mastery over karma. By showing all births in all realms of the world, one obtains mastery over birth. By showing perfect enlightenment in buddha-fields and at any time one pleases, one obtains mastery over aspiration. By showing all realms of the world completely filled with buddhas, one obtains mastery over faith. By showing miraculous transformations in all buddha-fields, one obtains mastery over miracles. By showing the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the unshared dharmas of the Buddha, the marks and signs, and perfect enlightenment, one obtains mastery over wisdom. By showing the appearance of limitless and centerless dharma gates, one obtains mastery over dharma. As such, it is extensively taught in the Ten Bhumi Sutra. As in the Extensive Explanation of Entering the Middle Way, Illuminating the Profound Meaning, the ultimate truth
