The all-knowing Buddha declared that the characteristic of non-anger is to possess the nature of being without anger. These are attained by abandoning anger. The self-nature of the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment is that wherever they definitely arise, they enable definite arising in the place of liberation. The characteristic of emptiness, the door to liberation, is that it possesses the nature of being extremely secluded because it is not defiled by the impurity of conceptual thoughts that grasp at reality. The door to liberation, the signless, possesses the nature of peace through the door of not focusing on signs. The characteristic of the third door to liberation, the desireless, is that when one truly contemplates suffering in those phenomena that are of the nature of suffering, and when one observes the reality of phenomena with the wisdom that realizes that very truth, one does not desire the perfections of existence. Furthermore, because one does not desire even the state beyond the world through the door of grasping at it as real, it possesses the nature of being without suffering and without delusion. The characteristic of the eight liberations is that they liberate from the obscurations of meditative absorption. The eight liberations are: the two liberations of seeing external forms while not destroying the perception of forms internally, and seeing external forms after destroying that perception internally, are the antidotes to the obscurations that hinder transformation. In many commentaries, the second is described as perceiving forms internally, which is incorrect. The beautiful liberation, which possesses the nature of the fourth dhyana, is the third, and is the antidote to the defilements of delighting in transforming beautiful forms and not delighting in transforming unattractive forms. In the path of dwelling in bliss in this very life, there are two: on the path of dwelling in harmony with liberation, there are the liberations of the four formless absorptions, and on the path of dwelling in peace, there is one liberation of the cessation of meditative absorption, which is the cessation of perception and feeling. The third is that the ten powers that will be explained should be understood as being of the nature or characteristic of extremely thorough ascertainment. Because the objects are extremely well ascertained, they are called powers because they possess the characteristic of being unimpeded in engaging with objects. All knowable things are truly not.

Perfectly complete, that is, completely enlightened, that is, understood. Thus, the promise says: I have exhausted the defilements along with their predispositions. I say that attachment and so on are the Dharma that obstructs liberation. If one diligently practices on this ground and path, suffering will be exhausted, thus the four vows are not like that. Having not seen any Dharma-conforming refutation, these four fearlessnesses of protection are indeed the very stable nature, which is characterized by attributes, because no refuter can change it. Those who correctly understand Dharma, meaning, definitive words, and confidence separately are characterized by the four confidences and so on being cut off, that is, without contact. Bringing benefit and happiness to beings is the characteristic called great love. Completely protecting suffering sentient beings is the characteristic of great compassion. Great joy is the characteristic of being extremely happy. Great equanimity is not mixed with attachment to some things and anger towards others, and is known to be characterized by being separate from them. The Buddha's Dharma, whichever of the eighteen unshared qualities is desired, is the self-nature that cannot be stolen by others, because the teacher does not possess the opposite of the unshared qualities, such as confusion, so they cannot steal it because they have no opportunity, because it is invincible. The eighteen unshared qualities are three sets of six: the body has no confusion, the speech has no idle talk, the mind has no forgetfulness, no non-meditative equipoise, the conceptualization of holding samsara and nirvana as different, and the equanimity of not separately examining, these six are the first. There is no loss of aspiration, effort, mindfulness, samadhi, wisdom, and liberation, this is the second. All actions of body, speech, and mind are preceded by wisdom and follow wisdom, and the wisdom vision that is unattached and unobstructed to the past, future, and present times is the third. The definitive word of unsharedness is that those Dharmas exist only in the support of the Buddha, but not in other supports, therefore it is the support.
