That fault exists. Because I have no commitment, I only have no fault. Like this, the meaning of all statements about commitment and impartiality should also be understood as before. As it is said in the Mother of the King: "Endowed with life, Subhuti, can one obtain the attainment of the unarisen with the arisen dharma? Or can one obtain the attainment of the unarisen with the unarisen dharma?" Subhuti said: "Endowed with life, Shariputra, I do not wish to obtain the attainment of the unarisen with the arisen dharma, nor do I wish to obtain the attainment of the unarisen with the unarisen." Shariputra said: "Endowed with life, Subhuti, is there then no attainment and no realization?" Subhuti said: "Endowed with life, Shariputra, there is attainment and there is realization, but not in the manner of two. Endowed with life, Shariputra, attainment and realization are in the conventional truth, and the stream-enterer, the once-returner, the non-returner, the Arhat, the Pratyekabuddha, and the Bodhisattva are also in the conventional truth, but in the ultimate truth, there is no attainment and no realization." Like this, it is extensively said. Among them, from "I do not wish to obtain the attainment of the unarisen" up to this point, if one searches for the imputed meaning of the two, the object to be attained and the agent of attainment, it will become no attainment. Therefore, when observing in this way, the attainment of the object to be attained is prevented from two aspects, and because the object to be attained, when observed as two, is not reasonable for a thing established by its own nature. Without investigation, the acceptance of attainment in the conventional truth is shown from "There is also attainment" to "It is not in the manner of two." What is called attainment refers to the attainment of the object to be attained and realization. Just as those two do not exist in the ultimate truth, but are accepted in the conventional truth, similarly, one should know that what is refuted by the refuter is not refuted in the ultimate truth, but is refuted in the conventional truth. Second, furthermore, just as, for example, you rely on seeing an image, the differences that exist in the orb of the sun and the face, at the time when the sun is seized by Rahu, etc., will appear, and the sun and the face

When analyzing how faces and their reflections arise in a combined or uncombined manner, seeking the meaning of the name, it is unreasonable for them to arise. However, relying on the sun and the face, a reflection appears merely through the establishment of terminology. Even though the reflection is not real, it ascertains the desired meaning, and for the sake of making one's own face beautiful. Just as the reflection has power, so too here, it should be known that in order to purify the defilement of ignorance, which is like the face of wisdom, from the reasons where power can be seen, such as dependent arising and oneness or otherness, one should understand the emptiness of inherent existence, which is to be established. This is the reason that contradicts the establishment of inherent existence. By the word "also," it should be known that by refuting what contradicts the establishment of inherent existence, one can also refute the refuter. Because for those who say that existence is merely nominally designated, it is unreasonable to speak of the two of seeking the meaning of the name. By relying on the two to refute and answer, the Madhyamika practitioner cannot find any fault in any way. As it is said in the *Śataśāstra*: "For what has neither existence, nor non-existence, nor both, for whom there is no side, even after a long time, it is not possible to speak of a fault." And in the *Mūlamadhyamakakārikā* it is also said: "If one argues with emptiness, who can answer the arguer? He has not answered everything, he will become the same as what is to be established." Thus it is said. By showing the analysis of combination and non-combination for the refuter and the refuted, it should also be known that for the cause that produces, one should also understand to refute by analyzing combination and non-combination with the result. Here, Lekden (Tibetan name) thinks that this Madhyamika treatise is about the occasion of the cause that produces, but not about the cause that manifests. The analysis of combination and non-combination is also about the cause that manifests, but not about the cause that produces. Therefore, there is no place left for our words to be refuted. To say that for the cause that produces, there is no need to analyze combination and non-combination for the cause that manifests or knows, such as reasons, is not an answer, but the fault of others.
