Because there are causes and effects, and chariots, etc., everything will be accomplished. Here, the commentary states that the distinction to be refuted is the harm to causes and effects that are established by their own nature and own entity, etc. If one were to retort by saying that things do not exist by their own nature, like illusions, that would not be permissible. One should not offer what merely appears to be an answer without distinguishing between being established by one's own nature and existing. The third part has two aspects: the argument of equal fault in refuting the establishment of cause and effect by its own nature, and the presentation of the answer that the fault is not equal for oneself. The first is: Here, in response to the refutation of the establishment of cause and effect by its own nature, some say this: When a cause produces an effect, the examination of whether it is in contact or not in contact is the same for you as well. How so? Does your refuter refute by contacting the object to be refuted, or by not contacting it? Isn't this fault also applicable to you? Yes, it is. Like this, if it refutes by contacting, it becomes one, so who refutes whom? But if it refutes without contacting, then all similar things that do not contact will refute, which is unreasonable. And there is no third examination other than these two examinations. If that is done, your refuter does not have the power to refute the object to be refuted. Therefore, your refutation itself is refuted, so implicitly the entities of cause and effect are also established by their own nature, and it is said to strengthen that. When that which appears to be a refuter speaks in that way and completely destroys only his own side, then you are not able to refute the system of others that is to be refuted. Furthermore, because the opponent's own words are also turned back upon himself, with the same consequence as ashes thrown at another, that is, with what appears to be a refutation, you are not accepted or desired by noble beings because you groundlessly accuse all things. How so? If it produces without contact, then all similar things that do not contact should produce. But there is no reason why they do not produce. For example, a magnet attracts iron that is in a suitable place without contacting it.

All non-encounters are not counted. The eye only sees forms that exist in places where non-encounter is possible. Just as all non-encounters are not seen. The same is true of causes; even if they have already arisen, not all non-encounters will produce, but only produce suitable fruits. Furthermore, why would you become a thorough debater? Because a debater who abandons his own position and only engages in refuting the positions of others is called a thorough debater. You are also like that, so what? The second part has four points: the reasonableness of refuting and proving one's own position; clarifying the reasons why the faults of others are not the same; just as one can prove selflessness, others cannot conversely prove it; and how to understand the remaining refutations not explained here. The first part has two points: the way of acknowledging the refutation of others in name, and the way of acknowledging the proof of one's own position. The first point is: It should be stated here, does the refuter refute without encountering the object to be refuted, or does he refute after encountering it? The fault that has already been mentioned is that here, for any debater who has a position, that is, who adheres to the ultimate truth of inherent existence, this will become a fault. Because I do not have this position of adhering to the ultimate truth of inherent existence. Therefore, it is not possible for me to point out the faults of both encounter and non-encounter. Because according to our view, both the object to be refuted and the refuter acknowledge that they are not inherently established. In the commentary, the reason why the fault of examining encounter and non-encounter in the production of cause and effect for others is not the same for oneself is that the opponent acknowledges that cause and effect are established by their own nature, while oneself acknowledges that they are like illusions that are not established by their own nature. In this case, the reason why the fault thrown at others does not come to oneself is that it is not established by its own nature. Thus, the reason why it is not the same for oneself is that it must be undoubtedly assumed that neither side acknowledges inherent existence. Therefore, in the Refutation of Objections, it says: If I have some vows, then I
