Two refutations: Refuting the idea that assembly is a chariot. Refuting the idea that mere shape is a chariot. First: The previous five positions have already been stated, so here, the position of assembly and the position of shape, both of which prevent it from being a chariot, must be established, so we should begin to explain them. If merely the assembly of the parts of a chariot becomes a chariot, then when the chariot is dismantled, the assembly of the parts remaining scattered should also have the existence of a chariot. Refuting that the assembly of parts is a part of itself has already been discussed, but it is repeated here to show a further fault than previously stated. There is another fault: for what reason is there no whole dependent on parts? Then the parts should also not exist, because your own school has admitted that the chariot has no whole dependent on parts. If they think that the assembly of parts is a whole with parts, and the parts are parts, and they also think of parts and a whole, so they have not admitted that there is no whole dependent on parts, then there is no fault, because in your own system, both the individual aggregates and the assembly are to be taken, just as one does not want to take the taker, both the individual parts of the chariot and the assembly are established as parts, but not established as a whole, and they also do not want a whole that is not an assembly, and that is also for the sake of refuting it. The word 'འང་' is to collect the meaning of the unstated assembly, and it should be known that the way of dwelling is that not only the shape of the parts is not a chariot, but also the mere assembly is not reasonable. Second: Furthermore, if you think that only the shape of the chariot is the chariot, then is that shape the shape of each individual part, or is it the shape of the assembly? If it is like the former, then is it the shape of those who have not abandoned the difference in shape before assembly, or is it the shape of those who have abandoned the difference in shape before? If you think like the former, it is not reasonable. Why? According to your view, the individual parts of the chariot, such as the wheels, have the same shape as they had when they were not assembled, and when they are assembled and recognized as a chariot, that is, when they are established, they should still exist as before, unassembled.

Just as those branches that have become fragments do not have a chariot, so too, when the branches are assembled, there is no chariot. Because you consider the shape of each branch itself to be the chariot, and there is no difference in the shape of each branch before and after. If the second view, that is, the difference in shape is different from before, and that which appears later becomes the chariot, then if at this time when the chariot has already been established, the difference in the shape of the spokes and so on with the axle, the nails and so on, the branches of the chariot are each distinct, that is, the shapes such as square, long, and round are different from when they were not assembled before, and if there is a difference that is inconsistent, if this inconsistent shape of each branch can be apprehended by eye consciousness, then that also does not exist. Therefore, the shape of each branch itself does not have a chariot. If it is thought that the special shape of the collection of assembled branches such as spokes is the chariot, that is also unreasonable. If the collection, that is, the thing that exists as a substance, exists even a little, then it will become a shape that depends on it. The collection of branches does not exist even a little as a substance. Because according to your view, there is no collection, that is, there is no substantial existence at all. The shape is not established by relying on the collection of branches as the basis for establishment. Because you admit that such imputed existences rely only on substantial existences, and you also admit that the collection of branches is an imputed existence. Therefore, for something that is nothing, that is, something that does not exist as a substance at all, relying on it as the basis for establishment, In this example of the chariot, how can it become a shape that is regarded as a chariot? It will not become. Here, the opponent admits that imputed objects rely on independent substantial existences as the basis for establishment. Both collection and shape are considered to be imputed existences. If one thinks that the collection is the basis for the establishment of shape, then one is only creating contradictions. Just as the color of a person cannot be established on a person.
