You become the self that exists, and when you directly see selflessness, you must realize that that self does not exist at all. Therefore, for the other party, the aggregates and mental objects are the self, and you must see that these do not exist, which leads to a fault. It is only established by name, and the fault does not exist at all for the school that does not want to establish it by searching for the meaning. If someone thinks that when karma and fruit are connected, the word "self" is used, because it is impossible for a self different from the aggregates to exist, so it can only refer to the aggregates. And when seeing selflessness, it refers to the inner agent, the person posited by other non-Buddhists. Therefore, when seeing selflessness, one only sees the action that is separate from the inner agent, and for that action, there is no fault of not seeing things like aggregates. If someone thinks that when seeing selflessness, if one abandons the inner agent, the person of the permanent self, that is, sees that it does not exist, then if one admits this, one cannot lead the meaning of the word "self" to other things at other times, therefore, your aggregates and mind will not become the self, and if so, then your own school will collapse. If someone thinks that in the situation of the connection of karma and fruit, one does not want to use the word "self" of non-Buddhists, therefore there is no fault of one's own school collapsing. This is also unreasonable, because here, the inner agent, the person is the self, and in other situations of karma and fruit, the aggregates are the self, so it is unreasonable to use it arbitrarily. If someone thinks that in the situation of karma and fruit, the inner agent, the person cannot become the agent and the experiencer of the fruit, then for the aggregates, there is no situation of using the word "self", which has been said before. Therefore, if one says "all phenomena are selfless", and here one does not want the word "self" to refer to the aggregates, then one should not want it in other situations of karma and fruit. If someone thinks that in the situation of karma and fruit, one wants the word "self" to refer to the aggregates, then in "all phenomena are selfless" one should also want the word "self" to refer to the aggregates.

Objection! There are other faults as well. According to your view, the yogi's direct perception of selflessness does not lead to the realization of the suchness of forms, etc. This is because at that time, he only sees that the permanent self posited by the non-Buddhists does not exist. Therefore, since one engages by focusing on forms, etc., as being true, attachment, etc., towards objects such as forms will still arise, because the true nature of forms, etc., that is, their mode of being, is not realized. For example, just saying that there is honey in a flower, without personally experiencing the sweetness of the honey, one does not focus on its sweetness. Similarly, even if the yogi sees that the aggregates are devoid of a permanent self, he does not focus on anything that he did not know before about the nature of forms, etc. Furthermore, just because there is no honey in an apple, it does not mean that one does not focus on the taste while tasting the sweet taste of the apple, and one cannot abandon the attachment to it. Similarly, by focusing on the self-nature of forms, etc., as being true, and seeing that there is no permanent self, what cause will there be to abandon attachment, etc., towards forms, etc.? There will be no cause. Seeing that there is no permanent self will lead to abandoning attachment, etc., towards objects such as forms. No one, thinking that the internal agent, the person, is true, will not rely on objects that will lead to experiencing happiness. Nor will they avoid encountering undesirable objects, suspecting that the internal is permanent and happy, and that there is suffering. Therefore, since there is no cause to abandon attachment, etc., one will not be liberated from samsara, just like the non-Buddhists. The fourth part has five points: explaining that all views that regard something as self are views about the aggregates alone; explaining, based on other sutras, that a mere collection of aggregates is not a self; refuting that the arrangement of the shape of a mere collection of aggregates is a self; pointing out other harms to the view that a mere collection of aggregates is a self; and the Buddha said that the self is designated in dependence on the six elements, etc. The first point has three points: explaining that the meaning of the scripture is shown from the aspect of refuting what is to be refuted; even if it is shown from the aspect of establishing, it is not showing the aggregates as the self; and others' arguments about these.
