Regarding the elimination of the three phrases of one and many, it is explained when establishing negation through "neither one nor many," etc., but what is said here is to show that the pervader of this reason is not found. Because self-nature is pervaded by either the self-nature of one or many, and to show that negating those two pervaders is the reason. This is the intention of the Difficult Explanation. Moreover, regarding the non-apprehension of cause and pervader, it is said that there are two establishers: meaning and term. Therefore, this is the establishment of the term of the non-apprehension of the pervader, not the non-apprehension of self-nature. Therefore, the meaning that has already been established is not taken as the meaning of the reversal of meaning. "One's own school," etc., clarifies the object to be established that is shown implicitly. In the Difficult Explanation, it is said that this is the collection of dharmas by one side, because the throwing away is shown by collecting with the word of the agent of "the dharma of one side," so the agent must be examined. There are two things to be examined here: it is unreasonable to examine whether this syllogism is consequential or autonomous, and it is unreasonable to examine whether the two objects of examination are refutations or both. First, both the method of formulating statements of proof and refutation are the same as the previous formulation, which is the custom of Indian scholars. Therefore, there are two things to be examined here: is this syllogism formulated as a consequential statement of refutation, or is it an autonomous syllogism of a statement of proof? If it is according to the former, it is unreasonable, because one's own and others' schools, the realists, do not admit that what is said as the subject is truly separate from one and many. Moreover, for the consequential, it is necessary to establish what the opponent admits as the reason, and then throw out one that others do not want. If so, then this treatise says that this syllogism establishes the term of no self-nature, but it does not explicitly separate the consequential. Moreover, in the Madhyamaka Illumination, it is said that it is permissible to do either consequential or autonomous, so it is said that there is no fault in establishing by consequential. Then, in the Madhyamaka Illumination, even if the opponent does not actually admit the reason, he admits it implicitly, and for that reason, he establishes the pervaded of that reason, and if he actually admits the pervaded, then he implicitly admits the pervader. In this way, the Samkhyas also admit the previous

Furthermore, if one acknowledges omniscience, then, just as one acknowledges the knowledge of this life, which is necessarily preceded by the acknowledgment of the knowledge of previous lives; and if one acknowledges the existence of the four elements, then the existence of the four elements is necessarily preceded by the omniscience's seeing. There are many other examples like this. If the objector says that those (acknowledgments) are only acknowledged through the power of not speaking. If that is the case, then it is not reasonable, because when one speaks of a dharma, all the pervasive dharmas that it possesses are expressed by that word through power, and are determined by that wisdom through power. Therefore, what are the pervasive and the pervaded? If you say, please point out the pervaded that is acknowledged through power and is not one with what is actually acknowledged, then here, if we generally explain the pervaded and the pervading, the same mistake as before will occur, so we must want something special. That is, taking the imagination of Ishvara (Great自在天) as an example, the way to acknowledge it as a single nature is: to think that the Ishvara that exists in the morning, all of it exists in the afternoon as well. It is not that some part of the Ishvara that exists in the morning exists in the afternoon, but some other part does not exist; rather, all the parts that exist in the morning exist in the afternoon, and the parts of Ishvara that exist in the afternoon do not exist in the morning, so they are thought not to exist. Therefore, not thinking that the parts that are Ishvara are mutually different in nature is the way to think of Ishvara as one. This is like our own system (Buddhism) placing the vase as an example of one, and thinking that it exists in both the morning and afternoon, but not thinking that the vase in the morning and the vase in the afternoon are the same, and this is also different from placing the two as examples of many. That is what is meant by not actually acknowledging that Ishvara is separate from the nature of one. By acknowledging what, is it acknowledged through power that Ishvara is not such a one? If one acknowledges that Ishvara brings happiness in the morning and brings suffering in the afternoon, and so on, producing many sequences of results, then through that power, it is acknowledged that Ishvara is not one, and the so-called one refers to the Ishvara that exists in many past and future times, whose nature is not different, but exists in one nature.
