第一,梵文:madhyamaka(藏文:དབུ་མ་,汉语字面意思:中观),梵文:ālaṃkāra(藏文:རྒྱན་,汉语字面意思:庄严),梵文:vṛtti(藏文:འགྲེལ་པ་,汉语字面意思:注释)。

The notes on the Ornament of the Middle Way are personally written by Je Rinpoche. The notes on the Ornament of the Middle Way are personally written by Je Rinpoche. The notes on the Ornament of the Middle Way, personally written by Je Rinpoche, are complete. May we pay homage to the glorious Śāntarakṣita, who was embraced by Mañjuśrī, crossed the shore of self and other tenets, and possessed mastery over the profound meaning. When that protector first established the Victorious One's teachings well in this snowy land, the tradition of Nāgārjuna was well concealed by the auspicious coincidence of flourishing in this direction, so that even now, devotion to the profound Middle Way has arisen without interruption. Therefore, the writings of that lord of scholars, which we propagate without decline, are the supreme offering of repaying kindness. Discernment is as limitless as the expanse of the sky, and the power of impartial love is very strong, The supreme treatise, the Ornament of the Middle Way, which is fully guided, when experiencing the feast of reason in this, in many lifetimes on the path of reason, much effort has been made in establishing and refuting, and the opponents who are well versed are as numerous as the sky, and are as high as a jewel ornament on the crown of the head, and have ended the assembly of evil speech, such as this is very rare even in the holy land, and was invited by the Tibetan king, Ema! We Tibetans are so fortunate! The mind enjoys wonderful bliss, and is completely protected by the power of others, and the most excellent of scholars has made the ornament, and I will write a brief summary of the difficult points to understand. The Ornament of the Middle Way has five: The meaning of the name, the salutation of the translator, the actual treatise, who made it, and who translated it. First, madhyamaka (梵文天城体:मध्यमक,梵文罗马拟音:madhyamaka,汉语字面意思:中观) is Middle Way, ālaṃkāra (梵文天城体:अलंकार,梵文罗马拟音:ālaṃkāra,汉语字面意思:庄严) is ornament, and vṛtti (梵文天城体:वृत्ति,梵文罗马拟音:vṛtti,汉语字面意思:注释) is commentary. As explained in this commentary, all the verses are the Ornament of the Middle Way, and all the prose should be taken as its commentary, but the vow to write the prose itself seems to be the vow to write the ornament. In particular, at the end, in the form of "te", the Ornament of the Middle Way was made by me, and adorned with precious arrangements of knowledge and various sutras. As it is said that the Ornament of the Middle Way has been composed in conjunction with various sutras, it should not be made into two treatises, first the root and then the commentary.

And, considering this to be the last of the three methods mentioned, please grasp the essence of the Ornament of the Middle Way. Then, in the colophon of this work, it is good that only "Ornament of the Middle Way" appears, and the word "commentary" does not appear. Because in the commentary on the difficult points of this work, "Commentary on the Difficult Points of the Ornament of the Middle Way" appears again, both at the beginning and the end. The second part is easy to understand. The third part has three aspects: the act of entering into the explanation, closely stating the explanation itself, and the act of completing the explanation. The first part has two aspects: praise and the vow to compose. The first part is from the commentary on the difficult points: Just as the explanation of the meaning is clear, the object of praise is only the Buddha, and the two ways of praising the four, the Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, are explained clearly and are easy to understand. Here, Danbagpa believes that: the refutation of the commentary, the refutation of the afflictions, and the doctrine of abandoning the obscurations of knowledge and afflictions, abiding on the ground and abiding in existence, and knowing all that exists, the four causes of uprooting the afflictions and habitual tendencies, of which purification is the purification of the obscurations of knowledge, and the abandonment of abandoning afflictions must also be firm, so the first two are unreasonable. The meaning of abiding on the ground is because of abiding on the ground of having abandonment, and because wisdom arises after abandonment, it is unreasonable to be its cause, so the latter two have four unreasonable faults. He says that the first two are the same as what is to be proven, and the middle one is because there is no commentary on the difficult points, so it is the fault of not seeing it, and if omniscience arises after uprooting the afflictions and habitual tendencies, then the obscurations of knowledge have been exhausted, and there would be the fault of existence at the time of not becoming a Buddha, so it is not well seen. The explanation in the commentary as the cause is to uproot, which is the cause of arising, and it is also considering the reason as the cause. The second part is that effort is the composition of the Ornament. For what purpose? For the sake of understanding selflessness. By what method? By the two, scripture and reason. The necessity of understanding it is: if the remaining treatises show it, by what is it understood? From "I" to setting out before it is obtained, that is, the Bodhisattva. What is not obtained? It is the meaning of not learning to complete the cause of the two accumulations, which is the accumulation. The commentary says that the Hearers and others cannot abandon all the obscurations of knowledge in many eons.
