When saying "non-existence," it is not appropriate to show only that which does not deceive the object itself as a measure, because there is a measure that measures non-objects. If that is impossible, then the vow will contradict one's own words. If someone says that the measure of measuring non-objects is impossible, then saying that contradicts one's own words, which is true. However, these relationships in the context of explaining the semblance of reasoning in the determination of valid cognition are merely fabricated, as has already been said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition. If the relationship is fabricated, then what prevents it even for non-existence? The root verses such as "those who signify that and that which is not that," and the commentary on it by Master Dharmottara, having dispelled doubts about the two, some say: For non-objects, the subject and predicate are reasonable, but how is it reasonable as the object of measurement for valid cognition? Because for it, there is no capacity to perform a function, and all valid cognitions must arise from the object of measurement. If someone says: Saying "this is blue" and "non-blue does not exist," and "both blue and non-blue exist," and "neither exists" are absolutely certain, it is not permissible to be termed, because there is no valid cognition that measures non-objects. Those who signify must necessarily make the term "this exists, that does not exist" certain, and for non-objects, those terms are not permissible as objects of measurement. Was it not previously explained that only that which has the object of objects is a valid cognition? How can non-objects be objects of measurement? That is not the only valid cognition, valid cognition is: that which obtains a meaning that is certain and understood, whether the object exists or not, if what it determines is not harmed by any valid cognition, then it becomes a valid cognition, and that also exists in the valid cognition that measures non-objects. Then, if one thinks that obtaining the sphere of entry there is reasonable, if one ascertains that there is no nature of harm like one's own sound, then understanding the meaning of no sound, that itself is the meaning of obtaining the meaning. Then, in the Drop of Reasoning, the conception that holds the probans does not hold the capacity to perform a function, therefore it is explained as not being a valid cognition, and in the two systems of the Commentary on Valid Cognition and the Determination of Valid Cognition, the inference that relies on the refuting probans also does not deceive the capacity to perform a function, how is that? There is no fault, because all valid cognitions that directly cognize objects indirectly cognize non-objects, and for non-objects, the
