It is not appropriate to apply this method to all beginnings and ends, because it is not permissible to apply the establishment of non-conceptualization, etc., to the Vijnanavada school, since inference alone would mistakenly take the object of apprehension, and it arises from the power of the sense-direct perception of the meaning apprehended. Then, what if the characteristic of direct perception in Vijnanavada is not revealed anywhere? There is no fault, because it has been said that the valid cognition, which is established by the power of stability and instability of habituation in relation to non-conceptualization, is truly definitive. Therefore, if the meaning of non-deception is established, that is, non-deception of the object of apprehension, then it is well established that it must be applied only to the Sautrantika school. Some say that it is not reasonable to mention non-deception in order to refute the cognition of two moons, etc., as being valid direct perception, because they are valid cognitions since they are non-deceptive in some aspects. Moreover, Dignaga did not mention non-deception in the characteristic of direct perception, but said that non-conceptualization is direct perception. They say so. It is also unreasonable to mention non-deception in order to understand that non-deception is valid cognition in all objects of definitive cognition, because there is no cognition that is non-deceptive in all aspects of reality. They say so. The refutation of this is: It is unreasonable for Master Dignaga to have said that only direct perception and inference are valid cognitions, because according to your view, even the conceptualization of children is not without some aspect of non-deception, and there is none that is non-deceptive in all aspects. Therefore, in order to definitively show the two valid cognitions, he does not consider some conceptualizations to be deceptive. According to your view, all cognitions could be promised to be non-deceptive. Therefore, the master's intention is to establish non-deception based on obtaining the object that is capable of performing a function, that is, the object that has become the object of engagement, and it is non-deceptive in all aspects of becoming the object of definitive cognition. That which is non-deceptive in a common dharma is also non-deceptive in a specific dharma, and if the definitive cognition led by the power of valid cognition is deceived in one specific dharma, then there is no such thing as non-deception in the general, and therefore it is deceived in all aspects. Because a mirage has abandoned the nature of water, it has abandoned any part of not deceiving water. The thought that a jewel is in a cave and a crack in a light door is also abandoning the place where the jewel exists, so it is a jewel.

It is not a valid means of cognition for either parts or wholes. Dreaming of having a son of the day at midnight is also not a valid means of cognition because of the confusion of time. Therefore, it is impossible for a valid means of cognition to deceive other parts without deceiving one part. Therefore, just as the conceptual thought that is different from inference and is a valid means of cognition is abandoned, these teachers also believe that direct perception should be abandoned, and therefore they mentioned non-deception for that purpose. Fourth, confusion about the object cannot be a valid direct perception, which can be understood in the case of "the light of a jewel lamp." Confusion about time cannot be a valid direct perception there, because the place of doubt is small, so it is not mentioned. The doubt that arises about confusion about nature is: If holding something that contradicts the actual state of affairs is not a valid means of cognition because it is confused, then the root consciousness that holds blue becomes confused, because it holds the unmixed atoms as mixed. In the case of holding the external object as the object to be taken, how should one answer with reason that the atoms cannot have directional parts? The meaning of the root consciousness that appears blue holding the mixed nature is that the nature of the atoms is different, and the meaning of not mixing is holding them as mixed without difference in nature? Or do they exist in separate positions, holding them as existing in the same position? Or do they exist with gaps, holding them as without gaps? Or does the root consciousness exist separated by the object to be taken of different kinds, holding them as without separation? Does existing without mixing mean holding them as mixed? The first fault is not there, because then it would become apparent that they are gathered into the size of atoms. The second fault is also not there, which can be determined. The third fault is also not there, because neither gaps nor no gaps are real, so they are not the object to be taken of root direct perception. The fourth fault is also not there, because the atoms of color and touch do not appear to the eye consciousness without separation, and if the atoms of touch are empty, and the atoms of color appear as a mixed meaning, then it is admitted, because touch does not appear there. Even if it does not appear, it cannot be established that it holds the opposite nature. If it is said that because seeing color exists in the realm of touch is a confusion of the object, that is not correct. Because the eye consciousness does not show the realm that is a different entity from touch, and if it does not appear, then how can it be said that color exists in its realm?
