It is like wishing for things separately. If this person is a god from one aspect, namely from the perspective of the self, and a human from another aspect, namely from the perspective of the body, then the aspect of the god remains even during the time of the human, thus being permanent. The aspect of the human disappears during the time of the god, thus becoming impermanent. It is also unreasonable that one part of human existence is taken up by the god and one part is taken up by the human. Therefore, it is also unreasonable to focus on the past extreme and view both permanence and impermanence. If both permanence and impermanence were established by their own nature, then neither permanence nor impermanence would be established by their own nature, which depends on what one wishes. Since the establishment of both by their own nature has been previously refuted, it cannot be established. Here, the commentator says that if there is a slight bit of permanence, then later it is seen as becoming impermanent, thus establishing non-permanence. And if there is a slight bit of impermanence, then later it becomes permanent, thus also establishing non-impermanence. What is the meaning of this reasoning? For example, in the case of a person being reborn as a god, if there is a permanent human "self", then when he takes the body of a god, he abandons the human body. From that aspect, it is not permanent, and the human body is destined to be abandoned. If there is an impermanent nature, then when he takes the body of a god, although that body is destroyed, the one who abandons it remains permanent. From that aspect, it is also not impermanent. Even if it is reasonable to view the extremes of non-duality in this way, those two do not exist. This is actually another way of stating dualism, so it is also explained in a non-dual way. If, from beginningless time, there is something that wanders through the continuous cycle of birth and death and continues to wander, so there is a permanent wanderer, and that is the "self", if one thinks in this way. If the "self" or the aggregates, whichever it is, comes from whatever realm of the previous life to another realm, and again goes to another realm, if it is so by its own nature. Therefore, even if a self that wanders in samsara from beginningless time were established by its own nature, it does not exist. Because it is unreasonable for the "self" or the aggregates, whether permanent or impermanent, established by its own nature, to come here from elsewhere or to go from here to elsewhere, as this has already been explained in the sixteenth chapter. Therefore, it is unreasonable for the wanderer to exist by its own nature. Like that.

As it is said, if there is not even a single permanent dharma of the samsaric being, then what impermanent dharma will there be that abandons the previous aggregate when taking rebirth? That does not exist. Since permanence and impermanence are each unobtainable in their own nature, therefore the aggregation of both permanence and impermanence, and the separation of both permanence and impermanence, that is, neither of the two, where does it exist in its own nature? Therefore, clinging to the prior extreme, observing with the nature of the world being neither permanent nor impermanent is also unreasonable. Fourth, divided into two: refuting the extreme views of having an end and not having an end, first refuting the first two extreme views, and then refuting the latter two extreme views. The first is: if the world of sentient beings has an end at the end of this life, that is, after destruction, no other sentient beings arise, then how will the other world of sentient beings exist? It will not exist. Because the other world exists, it is unreasonable for the world to have an end. If it is also said that the world of sentient beings "the end is exhaustion," etc., as it is said, if there is no end at the end of this life, that is, there is no destruction, then how will the other world of sentient beings exist? It will not exist, because if the sentient beings of this life have not died, there is no future life for them. Therefore, it is also unreasonable for the world to be without end. Because the continuum of the aggregates is connected as cause and effect, flowing continuously, and each moment is being destroyed, this flows like the flame of a lamp, therefore it is unreasonable for the world of sentient beings to have an end of existence after destruction at the end of this life, and to be without end without destruction at the end of this life. How is it unreasonable? If the previous person's aggregate is destroyed, and relying on this person's aggregate, the latter aggregate encompassed by the heavenly realm does not arise, then like a lamp with exhausted oil, the world of sentient beings will become having an end, but because the future body will arise, it is not having an end. If the previous person's aggregate does not perish at the end of this life, and relying on this person's aggregate, the aggregate of the gods the latter aggregate does not arise, then because it has not deteriorated from its own nature, the world will become without an end of destruction, but the previous aggregate will be destroyed, and its resulting latter aggregates
