Pages 501 to 583. Pages 501 to 583. will become meaningless, and the appearance of the Tathagatas will also become meaningless. Because that ultimate reality exists, Bodhisattvas are called experts in ultimate reality. It is said that if one cannot acknowledge the realization of the meaning of suchness, then the effort of making many correct or incorrect analyses of suchness will be meaningless, because it is impossible to be an expert in ultimate reality. The great hero taught eighty-four thousand collections of Dharma, but if someone does not understand that suchness, then all of it will be fruitless. The Blessed One said this. In the Entering the Middle Way it says: When all the dry firewood of knowable things is burned and pacified, that is the Dharmakaya of the Victors. At that time, there is no birth and no cessation. The cessation of mind is the manifestation of the body. It is said, and its commentary says: The object of wisdom, suchness, in all ways, mind and mental factors that have it as their object do not function, therefore it is established that only the body can manifest it. This is also not contradictory, because at the time of Buddhahood, the movement of mind and mental factors, such as conceptual thoughts, do not arise. Therefore, it is not considered that the Dharmakaya is manifested through it, but it is considered that only the Sambhogakaya can manifest it, because that is the meaning. In the face of the wisdom that directly realizes suchness, there is not even a subtle appearance of duality between its own object and the subject, but it is equally absorbed like water into water, and therefore, it does not directly measure all things. If it measures, then indirect realization is not possible, it must be directly realized, and measuring without aspects is not the tenet here. For the consciousness that directly manifests aspects such as form and sound, it is impossible for the object and subject to appear as two. If it does not measure all things, it will not lead to the separation of phenomena and the nature of phenomena, because in the face of the intellect that realizes suchness, the connection between phenomena and the nature of phenomena is not established, and it is similar to the fact that there is no ultimate truth in the face of the conventional valid cognition that realizes blue, so the two do not need to be separated. Furthermore, the Buddha

If all things are measured by the wisdom that knows the suchness of all things, then the conventional truth can be obtained by the intellect that sees the truth as it is, and in this way, the nature of the two truths will be confused. Moreover, all conventional truths must be established by the intellect that takes reality as its object. The second case is: in this school, is the wisdom that knows the suchness of all things acknowledged in the Buddha-land? If it is like the second case, then the ten powers of knowledge mentioned in the "Entering the Middle Way" are also unreasonable, and it cannot be admitted that all Buddhas are omniscient, which would be slandering one's own teacher. If it is like the first case, for children, if it does not appear as being established by its own nature, then no one will be confused, so it exists. At that time, these must appear in the Buddha's wisdom that knows the suchness of all things. If so, since it does not exist as it appears, will it be confusing? For this question, it will become a fault as mentioned above, so the second case is not admitted. That is, in the sutra quoted in the "Entering the Middle Way Commentary": "Also, how many sentient beings that do not appear in a place the size of a chariot wheel appear to the Tathagata, those are very many. The gods and humans of the three thousand great thousand worlds are not like that." Just as for non-Buddhists, hermits with five kinds of clairvoyance, Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Bodhisattvas, sentient beings that do not appear in a place the size of a chariot wheel, but appear to the Buddha, are very many, it is known after appearing, not not appearing. There are also two kinds of objects that appear: one is the suchness that is not defiled by the imprints of ignorance, such as the marks and signs of the Buddha; the other is the suchness that is defiled by the imprints of ignorance, such as the impure vessel and essence worlds. Among them, the former has no meaning of reversal in the Buddha-land, while the latter is reversed because the cause is reversed in that land. The way of appearing is that when the marks and signs of the Buddha appear to a person who has not abandoned ignorance, it does not appear as being established by its own nature, but because that object is produced by the power of the imprints of ignorance, but because the subject is defiled by the power of the imprints of ignorance, and this is also the case for other people.
