So, transcendence of suffering is also established in dependence on the object to be negated, isn't it? Yes. If there is no non-thing that does not depend on things, then what thing do the children of ignorance and so on depend on to become non-things? As it is said in the fifth chapter, such as "If things are not established," the world says that things change into non-things, so who says that the children of ignorance and so on are such non-things? Then, as the scripture says: "Like the sky, rabbit horns, etc. The children of ignorance are also like that, Although they are not in words, Saying that there is reliance is also like that." This contradicts the scripture saying that these are not things? There, it is only said to be a non-thing by merely stopping the thing, but it is not showing a non-thing that exists by its own nature, because the thing itself does not establish its own nature. Here it is said that the basis of rabbit horns and so on that are not established are not non-things, this is to prevent the non-things that disappear from things and the non-things that are established by their own nature, it is not considered to be just non-things, because it is said that it is only the attachment of the thought of things, and in other occasions it is also repeatedly answered that there are no things. Therefore, whatever non-thing is established without relying on things, it is not established to exist by its own nature, this is true. Third, if Nirvana does not exist with the nature of things and non-things, then what is it? Just as coming from the previous life to this life, and going from this life to the next life, birth and death, like long and short things, are established depending on the aggregation of one's own causes and conditions, or like light is produced from a lamp, those that are established by taking the aggregation of one's own causes and conditions as the cause, are not dependent on the aggregation of one's own causes and conditions, nor are they entering as the cause, but the afflictions and aggregates of elaboration as mentioned before are completely pacified, this is what the Blessed One taught as Nirvana. Just that is neither a thing nor a non-thing established by its own nature. Or, relying on entering the cycle of existence, as mentioned before, The aggregate of action is the cycle of existence, and the aggregate of appropriation is taken as the cause to enter, as before.

The person who speaks is the cycle of rebirth. Here, the nature of mind, which is the basis for abandoning the seeds of affliction and the cessation of the appearance of the aggregates of appropriation, should be regarded as nirvana. The non-arising of similar future existences due to the cessation of the causes and conditions of afflictions, etc., should not be regarded as nirvana, because it is said to arise from the exhaustion of the previous cause and is said to be in the future. Fourthly, moreover, the sutra says, 'Monks, those who seek definite liberation from existence through arising or ceasing do not fully understand.' Thus, it teaches to abandon the craving for arising and the craving for ceasing, and teaches that nirvana is not to be abandoned. Therefore, it is reasonable that nirvana is not a real entity, nor does it exist by the nature of non-reality. If it exists by the nature of those two, then nirvana would also become something to be abandoned. Furthermore, it would be unreasonable to criticize those who cling to and are attached to the self-established nature of arising—reality and ceasing—non-reality, and who desire to definitely escape from samsara. Secondly, if, according to the opponent's view, since both afflictions and rebirth are non-real, nirvana is non-real, and its own nature is real, therefore, if it is thought that both of them are self-established, then it is thought that the faults of establishing each of them individually will not harm? This is what the Tirthika Vaibhashikas acknowledge, as explained in the commentary on the Lamp of Wisdom, that liberation is the gathering of the world, which is the characteristic of the pure land of accomplishment, and because the meaning of the word 'life force' exists, it is real, and because the suffering of samsara is cut off, it is also non-real. Moreover, as the sutra says, 'The liberation spoken of by the Victorious One is life-giving, has the stainless color of Tibetan incense, is like the color of milk, pearls, and bananas, and its shape is like a round, open umbrella.' They claim that such liberation exists above all worlds. If nirvana—liberation exists as the self-established nature of both reality and non-reality, then at that time, both reality and non-reality will become liberation. Therefore, if all conditioned phenomena, upon newly obtaining their own essence in the first moment, and then separating from it in the second moment, all become liberation, then those should not become liberation.
