Thus it is said. The present is the time when sprouts and so on arise and have not ceased. At that time, one's own cause has ceased, but the fruit itself has not ceased. Therefore, it is said that the cause has been exhausted, but the fruit has not been exhausted. Thus, the destruction of a sprout is the time when the sprout has passed, the non-arising of a sprout is the time when the sprout is in the future, and the sprout that has been formed but not destroyed is the time when the sprout is in the present. Therefore, all three times are calculated based on the time of destruction, non-arising, and arising without destruction of the sprout and other things. It is not that what is not in the present time spoken of by the author who names the time is not the present, because that is the present relative to the speaker. Therefore, since it is believed that the cause is prior, the fruit is later, the past is destroyed, and the future is unborn, then believing that the previous moment is the past and the later moment is the future is a delusion in the dark. The Vaibhashikas believe that each sprout and so on exists in three times, so they also believe that the sprout exists in the future and past times, and they believe that other things are also like this. Among them, Dharmapala believes that when sprouts and so on enter from the future to the present and from the present to the past, they abandon the future and present objects, but do not abandon the traces of their time. For example, when a gold vessel is broken and made into another vessel, and when milk turns into yogurt, the shape and taste change, but the color does not change. Yangsheng said that each time has the characteristics of the three times, but it is divided into past, etc., according to which characteristic is dominant. For example, a man has a strong desire for a woman who has no husband, but it does not mean that he has no desire for other women. Zhihui believes that when a sprout and other things enter different future states, they are divided into future, etc. For example, when an abacus bead is placed in the ones, hundreds, and thousands places, it is divided into ones, etc. Buddha Deva believes that, for example, a woman can be called a mother or a daughter depending on the object of reference. Similarly, a thing can also be divided into different times depending on the previous and subsequent states.

So it is. Firstly, those who speak of transformation assert the tenets of the Samkhya school; secondly, the characteristics of time are confused; thirdly, if one wants to posit actions that are different in nature from phenomena such as sprouts, they would become uncompounded, and if the nature is the same, then there would be no separate states of acting and not acting; fourthly, for each of the past and so on, one must also speak of the three times of before, after, and middle, so each time would have three times. Furthermore, if sprouts and so on still exist in their own nature in the past and future times, then why are sprouts and so on called destroyed and unborn? The root verses and commentary of the Abhidharmakosha forbid this, and assert the characteristics of the three times as previously explained, and they consider the past and future of destruction and non-arising to be non-existent, which is asserted by all the self-schools from the Sutra school upwards, except for the Prasangika Madhyamaka. The Prasangika Madhyamaka, however, considers all three times to be real, just as in the seventh chapter it is proven that the two times of destruction and non-arising are real. However, they do not consider each sprout and so on to have three times, so they are different from the Vaibhashikas. According to this system, the three times are exemplified by a sprout: the sprout is the present, its destruction is the past, and generally there is a cause, but sometimes the causes and conditions are not complete, so the unarisen sprout is the future. So, if it is asserted that the destruction of the destruction of the sprout arises continuously in similar kinds, then its moment that is unborn and unceasing would become the present, and if so, would the present and the destruction not be contradictory? There is no fault, because the first moment of the destruction of the sprout is the destruction of the sprout, and all its similar kinds of destruction are the previous previous destructions, and all destructions are the past. The destruction of the sprout itself, although it is not its own destruction at that time, is generally a destruction, so it is only the past. Thus, even if many similar kinds of the past have arisen, one must establish one's own nature through the way of the destruction of other things, so it is very different from the other two times. Similarly, even if many similar kinds of the future have arisen, one must establish one's own nature only through the way of the non-arising of other things, so it is very different from the past and present. Thus, then
