The nature of a sprout has two natures of two truths, ultimate truth is found by the former consciousness, and conventional truth is found by the latter consciousness. The one nature of a sprout is not shown as two truths depending on the two former and latter consciousnesses. As it says in the Commentary on Entering the Middle Way, "The self-nature of all things is shown to be of two kinds, namely conventional and ultimate." Dividing the nature of each thing into two, the ultimate is found by the consciousness that sees the true meaning, and the conventional is found by the consciousness that sees the false. The dharma nature of a sprout is its own nature, so it is called its nature, and the color and shape of a sprout are also the nature of the sprout, so it is also its nature. A basis of designation, such as a vase, must be determined to be a knowable, false, and deceptive thing, and one must find the view that the object of attachment, which holds that basis to be true, is refuted by reasoning. For if the truth is not refuted by reasoning, the false cannot be established by valid cognition. Therefore, the establishment of that basis as conventional truth by the mind necessarily depends on the refutation of ultimate existence by the mind. Although vases, woolen cloth, etc., are conventional truths, it is not necessary to establish the meaning of conventional truth by the mind when they are established by the mind, because vases, woolen cloth, etc., are like illusions that appear even though they do not exist by nature, but the consciousness that establishes them does not need to establish the meaning of illusions. Therefore, it is not reasonable to say that vases, woolen cloth, etc., are conventional truths in relation to the cognition of ordinary beings who do not have the view of the Middle Way, and that they are ultimate truths in relation to noble beings. As it says in the Commentary on Entering the Middle Way, "For ordinary beings, what is ultimate is merely conventional for those noble beings who have objects of experience with appearance, and its self-nature, emptiness, is ultimate for them." This is because it speaks the opposite. Ordinary beings hold vases, etc., to be true, and they also hold them to be ultimately existent. Therefore, in relation to their cognition, vases, etc., are established as ultimately existent, not as conventional. In their view, the basis of ultimate establishment, vases, etc., are the continuum of noble beings.

With regard to seeing the meaning of appearance as illusory, it is conventional truth. With regard to that knowledge, since it cannot be established as true, it is said to be merely conventional truth. Even so, since their nature has been declared to be ultimate truth, one should distinguish and speak of things like vases as conventional truth, and their nature as the ultimate truth of the noble ones. One should not say that vases, etc., are ultimate truth for the noble ones, because the wisdom that sees their true meaning does not find vases, etc., and what is found by the wisdom that sees the true meaning is said to be the characteristic of ultimate truth. The third is that, for the knowledge that sees the meaning of knowable things as false and deceptive, there are two types: clear sense consciousnesses that are not tainted by temporary causes of confusion such as cataracts, and defective sense consciousnesses that are tainted by temporary causes of confusion. The latter is established as incorrect consciousness relative to the former. As it is also said in the Engaging in the Bodhisattva Deeds: "The seen falsehood is also, desired as two aspects, clear senses and senses with defects. The consciousnesses of those with defective senses, in front of the consciousnesses with good senses, are considered to be inverted consciousnesses." As it is said. Just as the object-possessor is divided into correct and incorrect, so too, for its object, two types are declared: the true and the false, that is, the objects apprehended by the six sense consciousnesses that are not harmed by temporary causes of confusion, and the objects apprehended by the six sense consciousnesses that are harmed by temporary causes of confusion. As it is also said in the Engaging in the Bodhisattva Deeds: "Whatever is apprehended by the six senses without harm, that which is understood by the world, is true from the world itself, the remainder is, from the world itself, completely established as inverted." As it is said. Among these, the faults that harm the senses that are inside the senses are cataracts and jaundice, etc., and eating datura, etc. The faults that harm the senses that are outside the senses are from mirrors and caves, etc., to uttering sounds, and the rays of the summer sun near sandy or populated areas, etc. These, in the absence of faults that harm the senses that are inside the senses, become the cause of apprehending reflections and rock crevices and mirages as water, etc. Similarly, spells (藏文:སྔགས།,梵文天城体:मन्त्र,梵文罗马拟音:mantra,汉语字面意思:真言) and medicines, etc., prepared by illusionists, etc., should also be known.
