It should be done like this. The harm to the sense faculty of mind is those and wrong tenets, as well as seemingly logical reasoning and the harm of sleep, etc. Thus, the harm of being defiled by ignorance, etc., of the two graspers that have existed since beginningless time, is not regarded here as the cause of harm. Rather, as previously stated, one should take the causes of delusion that directly harm the sense faculties. Like that, the conventional truth grasped by the six consciousnesses without harm, and the opposite of that, the establishment of right and wrong, is only relative to the consciousness of worldly people. Because those things exist as they appear, and the consciousness of worldly people has no harm and has harm. Relative to the noble ones, there is no distinction between right and wrong. Just as images, etc., do not exist as they appear. For those with ignorance, blue, etc., appear to be established by their own nature, but they also do not exist as they appear. Therefore, for these two consciousnesses, there is no difference between error and non-error. So, the colored sense faculties have direct harm, so the object appears inverted, and the mind consciousness has the harm of sleep, etc., so in dreams people appear, grasping as people, etc., and in waking hours, grasping the appearance of illusory horses and cattle as horses and cattle, grasping mirages appearing as water as water, these objects are inverted, even the self-satisfied wisdom of worldly people can understand. However, the mind has the harm of evil tenets, so how can the self-satisfied wisdom of worldly people understand that the wrongly grasped objects are inverted? Here, the harm of distinguishing between the presence and absence of harm is not directed at the harm of innate inverted grasping. What is established by evil tenets is only the Lord, etc., who is invertedly established by the tenets in a way that changes the mind. Although those inversions cannot be understood by the self-satisfied wisdom of worldly people, if they are understood as inverted by the conventional measure that is not directly facing Suchness, then it is the consciousness of worldly people that understands them as inverted. Like the objects grasped by the two innate self-graspers, it is said to be grasped by the sense faculties without harm. For the self-satisfied thoughts of worldly people,

Although it is correct or true from a relative point of view, it does not exist in conventional terms either. Some Svātantrika-Madhyamikas believe that knowledge that appears to be established by its own characteristics must exist as it appears. Therefore, they do not distinguish between correct and incorrect for the subject, but rather distinguish between existence and non-existence by their own characteristics according to how they appear for the object. As it is said in the Two Truths, "Although appearances are similar, they are distinguished as real and unreal conventional truths because of their ability or inability to perform a function." This system believes that for those who possess ignorance, everything that appears to be established by its own characteristics is a distorted appearance due to ignorance. Therefore, they do not distinguish between correct and incorrect in the meaning of conventional truth. Here, in the commentary on the Entering, it says, "Whatever is false even in conventional terms is not a conventional truth." This is in the context of worldly people who are familiar with conventions. For example, the image in a mirror is not a real face, so relative to it, it is not a conventional truth. Even so, the knowable is false, and seeing the meaning of deception allows one to obtain the meaning of (recognition), so it is a conventional truth. Just as the knowledge of an image's appearance is mistaken about the object of appearance, so too, for those who possess ignorance, the appearance of blue and so on as being established by their own characteristics is similar to being mistaken about the object of appearance. If the measurable is established as true, then establishing it with such a mistake would be contradictory; but if the measurable is established as false, then that mistake would become an assistant. If it were not so, then phenomena like illusions and false things would have to be established as nominal, and in that case, conventional truth would be impossible, because if it is not true in nominal terms, it contradicts conventional truth. The second part has three points: explaining the meaning of ultimate and truth; explaining the definition of ultimate truth; and explaining the divisions of ultimate truth. The first point, in the Clear Words, it says, "It is both meaning and supreme, therefore it is ultimate. It is truth itself, therefore it is ultimate truth." Therefore, they do not, like others, explain the supreme as the wisdom of meditative equipoise free from defilements, and the ultimate as its object, but rather consider both meaning and supreme to be ultimate truth itself. The truth of ultimate truth is that it is not deceptive, that is, reality does not exist in any other way.
