It should also be understood as before. However, the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing of origination and cessation have seven subtle distinctions each, except for the first two views and the last one; the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing of the path have eight subtle distinctions, except for the first two views. Those eighty-eight subtle distinctions are called what is to be abandoned by seeing because they are abandoned merely by directly seeing the truths, without depending on the habituation of having already directly seen the truths. What is abandoned later through habituation, just as directly seeing the truths, is what is to be abandoned by meditation. The four that belong to the desire realm—desire, anger, pride, and ignorance—and the three that belong to the form realm and the formless realm, except for anger, are ten in total. These are in the nine grounds—the desire realm, the four concentrations, and the four formless realms. As previously explained, each of the afflictions divided into nine groups of nine also has two antidotes: the path of immediate non-obstruction and the path of complete liberation. The once-returner enterer is one who, after the path of seeing, has entered into and abides in the application for the sake of the fruit of the once-returner, as previously explained. After abandoning the sixth affliction to be abandoned by meditation in the desire realm, a noble one enters into and abides in the application for the sake of the fruit of the non-returner, prior to the antidote path of complete liberation of the ninth affliction to be abandoned by meditation in the desire realm. The commentary explains it in this way, taking into account the gradual attainment of the fruit. After abandoning the ninth affliction to be abandoned by meditation in the desire realm, one enters into and abides in its application for the sake of the fruit of the arhat, prior to the antidote path of complete liberation of the ninth affliction to be abandoned by meditation at the peak of existence. Thirdly, if those eight individuals—the four fruit-abiders and the four enterers—did not exist, then the Sangha Jewel would not exist. If those eight individuals did not exist because the noble truths did not exist, then the sacred Dharma, which has become the Dharma of the noble ones, would also not exist. Among these, cessation is the fruit, and the path is the Dharma of entering into it, that is, the Dharma of realization. The teaching that clarifies these is the Dharma of scripture. If the sacred Dharma does not exist, how could the Buddha exist? This will not change, because the Buddha became enlightened from having mastered all the Dharma through diligence in the Dharma that is in accordance with the sacred Dharma.

It is because of transformation. If there is no Sangha, how can there be a Buddha? There are four ways in which it does not transform: First, from the close service of the Sangha, accumulating the accumulation of wisdom, and offering, serving, and taking refuge in it, thereby accumulating the accumulation of merit, one must obtain Buddhahood from this. Or, if there is no Sangha, there is no stream-enterer, etc., and if one has not obtained these beforehand, one cannot obtain Buddhahood. The Blessed One will also certainly enter into some fruits. Or, the Blessed One is also a non-learner Sangha, as some sects say, the Buddha, etc., are the Sangha of monks. According to their view, if there is no Sangha, there is no Buddha, which is very clear. Those who do not quote the scriptures, from the great root, in the "Establishment of the Earth," say that the Bodhisattva abides on the first ground, saying that the path of seeing has arisen, and considers it to belong to the category of the Sangha. In that case, that meaning is also very clear. These are the disputes of the Sravaka sects, so it is telling how they speak according to their own views. Therefore, if one says that the meaning of emptiness is difficult to obtain, occurs occasionally, and those with little merit cannot encounter it, and because it is expensive, then this will also harm the Three Jewels—Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Second, furthermore, if one says that all dharmas are established by their own nature, therefore they are empty, then at that time, because they are included in everything, the results of non-dharmic, unwholesome, and dharmic, wholesome, both desirable and undesirable, are also not there. Worldly words, such as "do this, eat that, sit down, go away, come here," etc., also because they are included in everything, will harm all of these, therefore this reason of emptiness as it is proclaimed is not good, they complain like this. Before, from the first chapter to the twenty-third chapter, when it was determined by reasoning that all internal and external dharmas do not have a self-nature established by their own nature, they thought that only at that time, by the reasoning that distinguishes establishment and non-establishment, all actions such as arising and ceasing, and bondage and liberation, were prevented, therefore they argued. Second
