etc., and from conceptualization. From the arising of afflictions and the clinging to permanence, etc., the distinctions between what is inverted and not inverted, etc. Abandoning afflictions, etc., is completely unreasonable, because emptiness exists by its own nature. For all of these, the way it is extremely reasonable should be ascertained truthfully and directly. The treatise called "Examination of Inversion" is the nature of twenty-five verses, and is the explanation of the twenty-third chapter. Secondly, refuting the debate on that is divided into two: Examination of Truth and Examination of Nirvana. The first is divided into two: Explaining the tenets of the treatise and summarizing the meaning and showing the name. The first is divided into two: Debate and its answer. The first is divided into two: Debate on the unreasonableness of arising and ceasing, etc., and debate on the unreasonableness of karma and result, etc. The first is divided into three: Debate on the unreasonableness of the actions of the Four Noble Truths, debate on the unreasonableness of the entrants and the abiding in the fruition, and debate on the unreasonableness of the Three Jewels. The first is: If you establish that all these internal and external things are empty because they exist by their own nature, then you will have great faults and many faults. How is it? If it is empty like that, then it is non-existent, like the son of a barren woman, there is no birth and death, so nothing will arise and perish. Because that does not exist, the Four Noble Truths will become non-existent for you who speak of emptiness. Thus, the five aggregates of appropriation, which are produced by the previous cause, are the truth of suffering. If there is no arising and ceasing at all, then it does not exist. If that does not exist, then the origin of karma and afflictions from which the aggregate of suffering arises also does not exist. If there is no suffering, then the cessation of suffering, which is the truth of cessation, also does not exist. If there is no cessation of suffering, then the truth of the path of the eightfold path that goes there also does not exist. If that is the case, because there are no Four Noble Truths, it will not be reasonable to fully know suffering and abandon the origin, and to meditate on the path and realize the cessation, etc. Because the four actions of what is to be known and what is to be abandoned, etc., do not exist, then the four actions of what is to be known, etc., are also unreasonable, because the action does not err on the action. The second is: Those such as knowing the truth of suffering completely.

Because there is no "path," there are also no four fruits. Among them, the fruit of stream-enterer refers to the sixteenth moment of the path that has abandoned what is abandoned by the path of seeing, that is, the subsequent knowledge of the path, and the afflictions that belong to the path of cultivation in the desire realm, which are divided into small, medium, and large, and each is further divided into three, totaling nine, without abandoning the sixth, and the two abandonments that have abandoned what is abandoned by the path of seeing. As stated in the Abhidharmakosha, "Fruit is conditioned and unconditioned." The fruit of once-returner refers to the liberation path and abandonment of the sixth affliction that has been abandoned by the path of cultivation in the desire realm. The fruit of non-returner refers to the liberation path and abandonment of the ninth affliction that has been abandoned by the path of seeing and the path of cultivation in the desire realm. The fruit of Arhat refers to the liberation path and abandonment of the ninth affliction that has been abandoned by the path of cultivation in the peak of existence, which is just a rough statement. If these four fruits do not exist, then the noble individuals who abide in these fruits, that is, the four types of people who abide in the fruits, also do not exist. Because these do not exist, the four types of people who have entered the noble path also do not exist. Among them, entering the stream-enterer refers to abiding in the fifteen moments of forbearance and knowledge before the sixteenth moment of the subsequent knowledge of the path, without abandoning the sixth affliction that is abandoned by the path of cultivation in the desire realm. The forbearance of knowing the Dharma of suffering is the uninterrupted path that is the antidote to the ten types of views to be abandoned by the suffering truth of the desire realm—the view of the aggregates as real, the extreme view, the wrong view, the view of holding views as supreme, the view of holding morality and asceticism as supreme, doubt, attachment, anger, pride, and ignorance. It takes the suffering truth of the desire realm as its object and arises with the aspects of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness. Knowing the Dharma of suffering refers to the liberation path that abandons the above ten types of abandonment with the same object and aspects. The forbearance of subsequent knowledge of suffering refers to the uninterrupted path that is the antidote to the eighteen afflictions, which are twice the nine afflictions of subtle increase, since there is no anger in the upper two realms. It takes the suffering truth of the upper realm as its object and arises with the same aspects as before. Subsequent knowledge of suffering refers to the liberation path that abandons the above-mentioned abandonment, arising with the same object and aspects. For the truth of origination, the truth of cessation, and the truth of the path, there are three sets of four: the forbearance of knowing the Dharma, knowing the Dharma, the forbearance of subsequent knowledge, and subsequent knowledge.
