In short, since it includes various kinds of content, it is attributed to the two aspects of one and different. However, considering the way of holding worldly views, therefore, five aspects are explained in this and the tenth chapter. Thus, since the five aspects are empty of self-nature, there is nothing that the Tathagata is established with his own nature, so the continuum of existence is also empty of self-nature. The second part is divided into two points: refuting that the Tathagata, who is falsely established relying on the aggregates, exists by nature; refuting that the Tathagata and the aggregates exist by nature as the taker and the taken. The first part is divided into four points: if it is falsely established relying on the aggregates, then it is not self-existent; refuting the answer that the two are not contradictory; if the self is not established, then the other is not established; therefore, it is established that the Tathagata is empty of self-nature. The first point is: Many respected people say that since the fault as mentioned before will be committed, the Tathagata and the aggregates are neither one nor different, just as the Tathagata has aggregates like trees on a snow mountain, and the aggregates have the Tathagata like a lion in the forest, and the Tathagata has the signs like a wheel-turning king. It is also not established that the Tathagata has aggregates, because it does not admit one and different. So what is it? Since the Tathagata cannot be said to be that or different from the aggregates, but is established relying on the aggregates, therefore, refuting the five aspects does not harm us. If the Buddha is falsely established relying on the aggregates, then is it self-existent or non-self-existent? Because it is falsely established relying on the aggregates, it is like an image. Whatever is born from self-nature, that is, does not exist from its own nature, then relying on the aggregates, from the perspective of otherness, how can there be nature? There will be no, because it does not exist. The second point is: If the image is not established as self-nature in the place where it appears, therefore it is not self-existent, but like the face and the mirror, etc., exist relying on otherness, the Tathagata is also not self-existent, but relying on the aggregates, from the perspective of otherness, will there also be nature? If it is thought that the Tathagata exists relying on otherness like an image, then that Tathagata is himself.

It is unreasonable to exist by one's own nature, like an image. If something is like an image, its own nature does not exist, then how could the Tathagata exist by nature? It would not. The previous verse stated that if something exists from its own nature, it must be established only by its own nature, and it is unreasonable to establish it based on the aggregates. The later verse answers that it is not established by its own nature without relying on others, but it is established by its own nature by relying on others, and these two are contradictory. Third, if the Tathagata exists by nature, then relative to the Tathagata, the nature of the aggregates would become other, and it would become the Tathagata by relying on it. If the Tathagata does not have the nature of existing by nature, then relative to the Tathagata, how could the aggregates exist as other things? They would not. Fourth, thus, since neither self-things nor other-things exist by nature, where is the Tathagata who is established by nature apart from self-nature and other-things? There is none. All the texts of this treatise are intended to understand that dependent arising and existence by one's own essence are contradictory, but this chapter also repeatedly and clearly shows this truth. Second, it is said by many who are respected that the Tathagata, who cannot be said to be the same as or different from the aggregates, is established based on the aggregates. This is because they believe that the Tathagata is the receiver and the aggregates are the received, and both are established by their own essence. At that time, if, like Lhas Byin accepting wealth with previously existing wealth, if there were some Tathagata before the aggregates, that is, not relying on the aggregates, then he could rely on the aggregates, and after relying on the aggregates, he could become the receiver. But if analyzed, the aggregates are not dependent at all, that is, there was no Tathagata before that, because there is no reason to establish the Tathagata. If a certain Tathagata does not rely on the aggregates, that is, does not exist before that, then how could that Tathagata naturally accept the aggregates? He would not.

It is done. Thus, if the aggregates of grasping do not exist by their own nature even slightly, then it is unreasonable to say that the Tathagata exists by his own nature by relying on the aggregates. Since the Tathagata did not exist before, the aggregates of grasping are not grasped by their own nature even slightly. How can the aggregates be grasped by their own nature? They cannot be. When no one grasps by their own nature in this way, when the aggregates of grasping cannot be grasped by their own nature, there is no Tathagata who grasps by their own nature, and nothing is established by its own nature. Thirdly, as mentioned before, when examined and searched with five kinds of investigation, if the aggregates are not the Tathagata, not one, not different, not by their own nature, and not the basis and the based, etc., then how can the grasping aggregates establish the Tathagata who exists by his own nature? They cannot establish. Secondly, this investigation not only shows that the Tathagata is not established by his own nature, but also that the five aggregates of grasping, such as form and feeling, are not by their own nature, not existing by their own nature, because this is dependent origination, and the existence of self-nature has already been widely refuted in the investigation of the aggregates. If the aggregates of grasping are not self-nature that does not depend on others, but exist by their own nature by relying on other causes and conditions, then what does not depend on others, not from one's own things, not existing from self-nature, cannot be expected to exist by its own nature from other causes and conditions, because being established from one's own self-nature and having to depend on others are contradictory. Or, because of depending on the grasper, the grasped are not established by their own nature. If even so, it will become dependent on the grasper, then how can the grasped, if not established from their own nature, exist by their own nature from the other things of the grasper? Thirdly, as mentioned before, both the grasped and the grasper are their own characteristics.
