Because it is one, it does not meet when it exists separately without meeting. Although meeting is prevented, because there is that which is becoming other and is meeting, there is also meeting, if you say so. If meeting is also established as one in its own nature, then it itself does not meet with it, and if it is other in its own nature, it should not meet either, because all that does not meet becomes meeting. If you think of half meeting, then one side meeting thinks that all of itself meets, and if you think of one and two parts, then criticizing difference prevents it. Therefore, what has become the accomplisher of the act of meeting, the one who is meeting does not exist. If you say that even if there is no meeting, there is a final meeting, if you say so. If there is no meeting, then for that which has not started to meet, the meeting with the completion of the act also does not exist. If you say that even if there is no complete meeting, before the final oneness, there is an object that is the cause of meeting that becomes other, if you say so. If there is not that, because there is no one who makes it meet, the author of meeting is also not free to exist for the act of completing the act. Second, in this way, the meeting of the senses and objects such as the eye and form, and consciousness, etc., shows that there is no self-nature, which is also proven by the profound teachings, and in order to explain all the scriptures that prohibit being in harmony and meeting with the extremes, as a symbol of connecting the definitive teachings, from the questions asked by the close attendant, it is said: If the eye is in complete harmony, it will see, until the end: Therefore, the eye never sees. The ending says: Those who know this Dharma without self-nature, those heroes transcend the sorrows of the world. Enjoying the qualities of desire is also without attachment, cutting off attachment and subduing sentient beings. Here there are no sentient beings and no life, the kings are benefiting sentient beings. Although sentient beings are not there, they also do benefit, their actions are very difficult. Until: There is never attachment to it. Those who believe in this Dharma nature, their minds will not be attached to the world. And so on, showing that there is no harmony and meeting in the eye, etc., and no attachment, etc., and showing the benefits of such realization. The third is

That all phenomena are in conjunction, complete, assembled, if they exist by virtue of their own nature, then none of them have any basis to stand on. Therefore, in their lack of inherent existence, one should firmly establish the certainty that all these designations are extremely reasonable in the manner of the two truths. This is the explanation of "Examining Conjunction," which is the fourteenth chapter, possessing the nature of eight verses. Second, refuting that causes and conditions, when taken together, exist inherently, in three parts: explaining the text of the treatise, combining it with definitive scriptures, and summarizing the meaning and indicating the title. The first is: Here someone says that things exist inherently because there are causes and conditions that produce sprouts and actions, such as seeds and ignorance, which are taken together. This is the way the Clear Words connects, but Buddhapālita said: You assert that phenomena arise dependently and also say that they are without inherent existence, so how can phenomena both arise and be without inherent existence? If the inherent existence of phenomena does not arise from causes and conditions, then what else arises from them? If the inherent existence of cloth does not arise from threads, does only the inherent existence of threads arise? If nothing arises, then how can one say that it arises? Are you riding a horse and not seeing the horse? You say that phenomena arise dependently, but you do not see their lack of inherent existence. Thus, it is said that phenomena cannot have even a little inherent existence established by their own nature, but the connection asserts that holding that phenomena arise depending on causes and conditions and these two are contradictory, this treatise explains that they are not contradictory. This is the most important point of all reasonings, distinguishing the confusion of the two. Thus, to refute those who say that things are established by their own nature, in two parts: refuting that phenomena exist inherently, and showing that if one says that things exist inherently, then one cannot go beyond clinging to extremes. The first has two parts: refuting the proof of inherent existence, and showing the harm to inherent existence. The first has three parts: the actual meaning, showing that this prevents the other three extremes, and disparaging the view in the meaning of prevention.
