All those that are the continuity of the fruit, etc., manifest from the seed, that is, the seed becomes their cause and then ceases. From that continuity of the fruit, a vast collection of ultimate fruits arises. If the seed did not precede, then the continuity of sprouts, etc., would not arise either. Because the continuity of sprouts, etc., arises from the seed, and the ultimate fruit arises from the continuity, therefore the seed precedes the fruit, so the continuity of the fruit is not annihilation that does not arise, nor is it permanence that remains without perishing between the production of the fruit. The second is: Just as it is said about the seed, so from the mind that is associated with virtuous thought, whatever subsequent continuity of mind there is will manifest. From that continuity of mind imbued with virtuous thought, a pleasing result of ripening will arise when the co-occurring causes are not lacking. If there is no prior thought, then that subsequent continuity of mind will not arise either. Because the subsequent continuity of mind arises from the prior thought, and from that continuity the ultimate pleasing fruit arises, therefore the action of thought precedes the fruit, so the continuity of action that ceases without becoming the cause of the subsequent continuity of mind is annihilation, and even if it becomes the cause of the subsequent continuity, it is not permanence that remains without perishing, so even if action is accepted as momentary, it will not become permanent or annihilated. Which school's assertion is this? Although it is not clearly stated in the commentaries and explanations of the Root Wisdom, it is consistent with what is said in the ninth chapter of the Treasury of Knowledge, so it is the assertion of the Sutra School and the Kashmiris. Secondly, therefore, the various divisions of action as stated above, such as "speech and action," etc., refer to the three actions of the body, the four actions of speech, and "thought," etc., refer to the three actions of the mind, which also explain the ten white paths of action. These are also methods for practicing Dharma, that is, they become the cause of accomplishment. So, what Dharma do these ten become a method for? If it is said to be the third mind mentioned earlier, which is called "Dharma," or the nature of the ten virtues reaching the extreme is Dharma, while the nature of what is being done is the object expressed by the words of the path of virtuous action.

Its result is the enjoyment of the five desirable qualities such as form in this life and the next. The ten paths of action are the means of practicing Dharma, and the enjoyment of desirable objects in this life and the next is called the result of Dharma, so I think the connection between action and result is also natural. The second part is divided into two points: refuting the views of other schools, and establishing one's own views. The first point is: if the analysis of permanence and annihilation of the mind stream is done in a similar way to seeds and sprouts, then that view will produce great faults and many faults that contradict what is seen and unseen. For example, from the seed of rice, the continuum of rice sprouts and so on is produced, and from the continuum of rice sprouts and so on, only the fruit of rice is produced, and no other different kinds of things are produced. Good, non-good, and neutral minds, as well as the minds of the desire realm, form realm, formless realm, and uncontaminated minds, as well as the minds of humans and the six kinds of beings, will only produce their own similar kinds, and will not produce different kinds of minds. And, whoever is a god will only become a god, and will not become other realms, etc. If that is the case, then gods and humans who do non-virtuous deeds will not fall into the lower realms, which is not what is desired. Because those faults exist, the analysis spoken by other schools is not reasonable in this case of answering permanence and annihilation. The second part is divided into three points: general explanation, detailed explanation, and summarizing the main points to eliminate permanence and annihilation. The first point is: which analysis spoken by the Buddhas, solitary realizers, and hearers is reasonable in this answer, and it will be explained in detail here. What is that analysis? Good and non-good deeds, even if they disappear immediately after being done, will not be without results, because when the deed arises, in the continuum of the doer, a non-corresponding formation called the "non-loss" of that deed arises, similar to a loan relationship. Just like a loan relationship, the "non-loss" and the deed that produces it should be understood as creditor and debt. Just like after setting up a loan relationship, even if the money is spent, the money of the owner of the money will come back with interest at another time, the deed disappears immediately after being done
