Because it depends on others, even an Arhat who is already liberated still has bonds, so they will be bound. If you think, how is this reasoning? Then both the liberator and the liberation of Nirvana must be considered as liberated from Samsara, and if these two are established by their own nature, then a single act of liberation cannot establish them, so they must be separate. At that time, since there is no second act other than being associated with the act of liberation and being considered a liberator, it is unreasonable to say that the liberator is liberated. If there is a second act, then after liberation, one must rely on liberation again, so Arhats also need to be liberated again. If you think that there is no liberation without being bound, so bondage will be liberated, if bondage is being liberated and is established by its own nature, then bondage and being liberated are the same basis, so bondage and liberation will occur simultaneously, which is impossible, like light and darkness. This is like saying before that if something that is being produced exists by its own nature, then there should be a reason for it to be produced at that time. Thirdly, if Samsara and Nirvana, as well as bondage and liberation, also do not exist by their own nature, then the thoughts of those who desire liberation, thinking about when they will not be reborn and enter Nirvana, and when Nirvana will become theirs, will become meaningless. Moreover, the order of giving, discipline, listening, thinking, and meditating that they do, all those efforts that are necessary to attain Nirvana will also become meaningless. If you think like this, then all things are without self-nature like reflections, because I and mine exist by their own nature, so in emptiness, generating the view that I and mine exist by their own nature, and then thinking that I will not be reborn and enter Nirvana, and that Nirvana will become mine, like this, those who desire liberation cling to it, and their clinging is clinging closely, which is the great view of the aggregates of destruction. If such clinging is not abandoned, then all efforts made for the sake of liberation will become meaningless. If one aims at Nirvana, and all such discriminations exist with the nature of non-destructive view, thinking about when I will attain Nirvana, and when the mine of such a self will become Nirvana, if one clings to it like this, then it is a destructive view, so it will hinder the attainment of Nirvana, so the Buddha said that those who desire to be liberated from Samsara should abandon it.

Because it is said that one must realize that persons and dharmas are without inherent existence, this shows that even the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas have such realization. Therefore, those who desire liberation should abandon all that has been said before, because, with regard to ultimate reality, the arising of Nirvana is without superimposition, and the elimination of Samsara is not annihilation either. With regard to this, for what purpose should one investigate what the inherent existence of Samsara is, in order to eliminate it? For what purpose should one investigate what the inherent existence of Nirvana is, in order to attain it? Or, since neither Samsara nor Nirvana is observed to have inherent existence, no sentient being is liberated from Samsara and led into Nirvana. The arising of Nirvana cannot be accomplished even with effort. With regard to this, what Nirvana should one investigate? It is not appropriate to investigate. Having realized this way, not thinking about it there, one will surely transcend the wilderness of Samsara and reach the city of liberation. Secondly, in this way, it is shown by reasoning that Samsara and Nirvana, and bondage and liberation, are without inherent existence, and it is also shown that it is in accordance with the profound scriptural statements. In order to show that everything said, such as "Form is not bound, not liberated," will be explained by this treatise, let us briefly describe the aspects that are in accordance with the definitive meaning scriptures. In the Sutra of Taming the Maras, it is said: Then, at that time, Manjushri, who had become a youth, saw the evil Mara fall to the ground as if bound by the threshold of the door, crying out, "I am bound by a firm bond, I am bound by a firm bond," and thinking in this way. Manjushri said: Evil one, what binds you constantly, and not initially, is there a bond more firm than this bond? What is it? It is like this: the bond of pride and perversion, and the bond of desire and views. Evil one, these are bonds, there is no bond more firm than these bonds. You are constantly bound by those bonds, but not initially bound. Furthermore, evil one, if you were released again, would you be happy? He replied: I would be happy. Then, a son of the gods, without limit, said this to Manjushri, who had become a youth.
