This is because both are needed. The former cause, having ceased, also does not transmigrate, because the former going does not come from anywhere, and the latter does not go anywhere. Because there are no past and future actions except for the former action ceasing and the latter not arising. Moreover, those two are not existing as transmigrators merely by ceasing and not arising, therefore past and future actions are not existing as transmigrators. If it is thought that even if those two do not transmigrate, when the later moment arises, the former moment transmigrates, so one can rely on both the former and latter of actions and establish them as transmigrators. Then, one should examine whether the former and latter moments are the same or different in nature. If it is the first case, it is unreasonable, because it is cause and effect and former and latter, and because the times of the former ceasing and the latter arising are each different. If it is the second case, then when the later moment arises, the former moment will not transmigrate, because those two are different in essence. This is not uncertain, otherwise, if ordinary beings have birth in samsara, then arhats would also become in samsara. When other lamps are burning, the extinguished lamp will also burn. Because it is the same in unrelated other things, so one moment's former and latter, one arises, one transmigrates, and for the other two, there is no reason not to want it that way. Furthermore, if the later moment arises from the former moment, then does it arise from the former moment ceasing, not ceasing, or in the process of ceasing? If it arises from ceasing, then even if the seed rots, a sprout will arise, therefore it will become without cause. Although this school considers ceasing to be real, it does not consider the later moment to arise from the former moment ceasing, which has been said before, therefore it is refuted in this way. If it arises from the former not ceasing, then the fruit will arise without the seed transforming, and both cause and effect will arise simultaneously. Although nominally it is considered that the former not ceasing is the substantial cause of the latter, but here, it is refuted that it arises by its own nature, and for that point, the faults mentioned before will enter. If it arises from being in the process of ceasing, then being in the process of ceasing, which is neither ceasing nor not ceasing, does not exist, and for those two, the faults have also been stated. Thus, for separating the former and latter of moments, each one individually and both together, wanting to consider them as transmigrators, has been refuted. For the former and latter, one or other

Because it is prevented that the later arising is inherently existent from the previous one. It is impossible to establish that the prior and posterior moments and cause and effect are established by their own nature. Because there is no constant that relies on it, there is also no inherently existent samsara on the constant. All other schools that believe in the transmigrator who transmigrates from one realm to another believe that the person who is substantially existent and different in nature from the aggregates is the one who transmigrates. Therefore, saying that actions or aggregates are samsara is our own school, and the basis for establishing a person is mostly considered to be consciousness. Therefore, it is believed that consciousness, such as the alaya, is samsara, and it is also said that it is the person who transmigrates, and it is believed that the continuum that does not distinguish between prior and posterior moments is samsara. The second has two parts: refuting the sentient being who is different in nature from the aggregates and transmigrates. Refuting the person who is neither the same nor different from the aggregates and transmigrates. The first is: if it is true that actions do not transmigrate because they contradict reason, but if the substantially existent self, which is different in nature from the aggregates, transmigrates, then for such a sentient being who transmigrates, the order of the actions that do not transmigrate is the same, because if it is constant, it does not perform the activity of going and coming, so the constant does not transmigrate, and also for the impermanent sentient being, it is also unreasonable for it to transmigrate because of the examination of moments and constants. Secondly, if those who are respected by many say that it is unreasonable to say that the examination of whether actions are constant or impermanent and do not transmigrate is the same for sentient beings, because the self is like the aggregates, and it cannot be said to be the same or different, so it is the person who cannot be said to be either constant or impermanent who transmigrates. If that person who transmigrates exists by his own nature, then that person must be found when searching for the aggregates, elements, and realms in the five ways mentioned earlier. If he cannot be found, then what will become the samsara of the self that exists by its own nature? It will not become samsara. Furthermore, if here one transmigrates from the appropriation of a human to the appropriation of a god, then going after abandoning or not abandoning the appropriation of a human is inherently existent. If it is like the former, then between the former and latter, there will be no real existence of the five aggregates of appropriation, because there is a time when the former appropriation is abandoned and the latter appropriation is not taken, so it is established by its own nature.
