It is not like that. What kind of scripture should be regarded as provisional and what kind of scripture should be regarded as definitive should be understood by following the teachings of Samadhiraja and Inexhaustible Intellect. These very extensive contents should be understood from "The Essence of the Good Explanation of Differentiating the Provisional and the Definitive." Second, as such, it is proven by reasoning that all things are without inherent existence, and similarly, it is also proven by the profound scriptures. In order to show that all the scriptures that are thus proclaimed are explained by this treatise, the definitive scriptures are cited, as it is said in the Samadhiraja Sutra: "All are inconceivable, all are unborn, know existence and non-existence, let them be pacified! Those who are controlled by the mind will suffer in hundreds of thousands of millions of births." And also: "I remember that in countless eons of the past, I was the lord of men. The great sage worked with a boat, and his name was born from nothing. At the time of his birth, he dwelt in the sky, proclaiming that all dharmas are without substance. At that time, he was named accordingly, and his voice spread throughout the world. All the gods uttered great sounds, and he will become a king named 'Without Substance.' At the time of his birth, he took seven steps, and the Victorious One proclaimed that all dharmas are without substance. When the Muni became the one who teaches all dharmas, the Buddha, when he became the king of the Dharma, from the grass, trees, groves, medicinal mountains, and rocks, the sound of 'all dharmas are without substance' also arose. All the sounds in that world said, 'Without substance, nothing at all.' Such was the sound that guided the world, its tone was extremely wonderful." As it is said, the meaning of "without substance" is the meaning of "without inherent existence." Third, in general, things and non-things, and in particular, one's own things and the things of others, and the suchness of all dharmas, etc., for these things that exist by their own power, no establishment is possible, and the meaning that is directly shown should be clarified. At that time, it will naturally be established by the power of names, and all of these are very reasonable, and the certainty of dependent origination should be guided in this way. Self-

The first has three parts: explaining the text of the treatise, combining it with definitive statements, and summarizing the meaning by indicating the title. The first has three parts: refuting the inherent existence of samsara and nirvana, refuting the inherent existence of bondage and liberation, and refuting the fallacy of composing for the sake of nirvana as meaningless. The first has two parts: refuting the inherent existence of samsara, and refuting the inherent existence of nirvana. The first is: Here it is said that things exist inherently because samsara exists inherently. If going from one destination to another is called samsara, then if things do not exist inherently, then who goes and revolves from the previous destination to the next, like the son of a barren woman? This refutation has two parts: refuting the aggregates of objects to be taken as samsara, and refuting the sentient beings who take them as samsara. The first has two parts: refuting the permanent as samsara, and refuting the impermanent as samsara. The first is: If samsara exists inherently, then one of the two, the aggregates and the sentient beings, must revolve. If it is the aggregate of formations that revolves, then it must be either permanent or impermanent. If it is permanent, then it does not revolve, because it is devoid of the activity of going and coming, and if it comes from the previous destination and does not go to the next, then it contradicts the revolving entity. The second is: If one says that the impermanent aggregate of formations revolves, then even if it is impermanent, it does not become the inherent nature of the revolving entity, because the impermanent is destroyed as soon as it is born, and those that are destroyed do not revolve again. Or does one think that only the impermanent aggregate of formations, which passes from one cause and effect to another in a continuous sequence, revolves? In this case, without distinguishing between the previous and subsequent moments, there are two types of revolution: the continuous revolution that follows the previous and subsequent moments, and the revolution of each individual moment before and after. When refuting the latter, we first refute each individual moment before and after: the subsequent moment of the result will arise, but it should not become the revolving entity, because it has not come from any previous destination, nor does it go to any subsequent destination, and for the revolving entity, it is an action.
