As it is said in the cause of knowing that is spoken: For the Dharma without letters, who is the listener, who is the speaker? There are no letters in what is imputed. That is both listening and speaking. As quoted from the Samadhiraja Sutra, it is said that the listener, the speaker, and the Dharma to be spoken are all done by imputation, so they will also become non-knowable. Therefore, there are many who say that even those who teach by imputation are also imputed, so it is not necessary for you and I to be similar imputations. If it is said that it exists from imputation, then what is it like? The answer is: Its own nature is the Dharmata of all Dharmas, etc., which is the answer to the second question above. That is the essence of all Dharmas, and essence is nature, and nature is emptiness, and emptiness is no-self-nature, and that is Suchness, and that is also unchanging and always abiding in the essence of Suchness. If these objects of focus were truly existent by the power of the darkness of ignorance, then they should be focused on by the stainless wisdom of the Samadhi of the noble ones. However, in the manner of not seeing anything, the Suchness of those becomes the object of that wisdom, because that wisdom realizes the Suchness of things, and because things are not established as Suchness, that itself is the Suchness of those. If there is something to be refuted, then it can become an object of focus, but because of the nature of not focusing, it is established as understanding that the refutable is refuted. The meaning of "not seeing is supreme seeing" is not that not seeing anything is considered seeing, but as said before, not seeing elaboration is established as seeing freedom from elaboration, so seeing and not seeing are not done on one basis. Thus, it is also said in the Compendium: Forms are not seen, feelings are also not seen, perceptions are not seen, formations are not seen, in that, consciousness, mind, and intellect are not seen, this is Dharma-seeing, as taught by the Tathagata. As beings say that they see the sky, how can the sky be seen? Think about this. Thus, the seeing of Dharma is also taught by the Tathagata. Other examples of seeing cannot be used as metaphors. Thus, what is not seen is the five aggregates, and what is seen is Dharma.

It is said that this is the meaning of Suchness, as it is said in the scriptures: "Whoever sees dependent origination sees the Dharma." For example, the sky is merely the cessation of tangible obstacles, and seeing or realizing it is like seeing a target when there are obstacles to be removed, otherwise it cannot be seen. There, what is seen is the sky, and what is not seen is the obstacle. Just like that example, it is not seeing, but like seeing blue, seeing Suchness is prevented by the last sentence. It is said in the scriptures that the five aggregates are not seen, which shows that the uncontaminated Samadhi is not seeing phenomena. In this way, seeing Suchness is neither real nor merely imputed, and it will not become established by its own nature of ultimate truth. Even if all phenomena are not established as such a nature, the Dharmata is established, but no Dharma is established as a nature established by its own nature. Secondly, if it is argued that since it has been prevented that things exist in their own nature, although the self-nature has been prevented, other things exist by their own nature, because they have not been prevented, and if it exists, the self-nature will also exist by its own nature. If heat is established as the nature of fire, it can be established as another object by relying on the nature of moisture. When analyzed, if nothing exists by its own nature, then how can other things exist by their own nature? This is impossible, because the nature of other things, that is, the essence, is established by its own nature, so it is said that other things are established by their own nature. If one's own nature, that is, the essence, and other things, that is, the essence, are both prevented, but things still exist by their own nature, because they have not been prevented. Where else is there a thing besides self-nature and other things? Since it does not exist, if either self-nature or other things exist in the manner of essence, then the existence of things by their own nature will be established, but since these two have been previously prevented, they do not exist. If you say again, although you have prevented things, you have not prevented non-things, so non-things exist by their own nature, and if it exists, since there are contradictory things, things will also exist. If things are not established as existing by their own nature, then non-things will not be established as existing by their own nature, because things such as vases are now
