Since abiding, such as abiding in time and not abiding in space, exists in name only, it should be refuted as inherently existent. If abiding were inherently existent, it would have to abide as it was before at all times, so the actions of aging and decay would be contradictory, but merely abiding would not be contradictory. Thirdly, furthermore, if abiding were inherently existent, it would not go beyond the two factors of abiding, and that is, abiding abides, and it is unreasonable for another to cause it to abide, just as it has been shown that birth is not caused by another. Apply this to this as well: If there were another abiding, that abiding would become endless. It is also unreasonable for abiding to abide, for itself to cause it to abide, just as birth is not caused by itself. Since this abiding does not abide, how can its own nature abide? If abiding causes abiding, then when abiding, what is there to abide? Also, in the Samadhiraja Sutra it says: These dharmas do not abide, these do not have abiding. Although it is expressed with the words of non-abiding abiding, it is not found by its own nature. The Protector of the World did not teach abiding and birth, therefore, knowing such a Protector of the World, know samadhi. Thus, it is taught to know samadhi after realizing that the Victorious One taught the Dharma as abiding and birth are not inherently existent. Also, in the Compendium it says: Whoever does not abide in form, does not abide in feeling, whoever does not abide in perception, does not abide in formation, whatever consciousness does not abide, the nature of Dharma abides, this is the supreme conduct of prajnaparamita. Permanent and impermanent, happiness and suffering, suffering and non-suffering, self and non-self, suchness and non-suchness, emptiness and non-emptiness, attainment of result and arhat do not abide on the ground, the ground of the solitary realizer and the ground of the Tathagata also do not abide. Just as the guide does not abide in the unconditioned realm, likewise, he does not abide in the conditioned either, he acts without abiding. Thus, the Bodhisattva abides without abiding in abiding, non-abiding is abiding, this is the abiding spoken by the Victorious One. Thus it is said. The third has three: The way to examine cessation and prevent it, the reason why the fault is not similar to itself, refuting the view that destruction is without cause. First, if birth and abiding are by nature.

If it is said that there is destruction because there is dharma that is used together with these, then, there are five refutations to this. Refuting by examining the three times. Refuting by examining whether it exists or not. Refuting by examining the self and other states. Refuting by examining whether things exist or not. Refuting by examining whether there are other destroyers or not. First, if impermanence exists as established by its own nature, then it will not exceed three situations. That is, a thing that has ceased will not become ceased, because the past and the present are contradictory. For the view that considers destruction as a thing, like a pot, the reason why that thing to be refuted, the thing that has ceased, does not cease is that the act of the pot ceasing is the present, and the past of the pot being destroyed are contradictory. Not ceased, that is, the future in which the act of ceasing has not arisen will also not become ceased, because it is separated from ceasing. Ceasing is also the same, that is, it will not cease by its own nature, because apart from the first two, ceasing does not exist by its own nature, and, if ceasing exists by its own nature, then the act of ceasing will become two kinds, and if that is the case, the ceaser will also become two kinds. Cessation, here there are two kinds of actions, "cessation" and "this ceases", this should also be known for existence. In addition, since the arising by its own nature has been previously prevented, how can something that has not arisen by its own nature cease by its own nature? It will not cease. Second, in addition, if cessation exists by its own nature, then it will not exceed two situations, that is, when a thing temporarily exists, it is not reasonable for cessation to exist by its own nature, because it is contradictory for the act of cessation and the act of existence to exist on the same basis. When a thing does not exist in its own time, it is also unreasonable for the act of cessation to exist, because that is also not existent. Third, there are two, the true meaning and, the cessation of debate. First, in addition, if cessation exists by its own nature, then it will not exceed cessation in two states. That is, in the state of milk, the state of milk will not become its own destruction, because it is contradictory to act on its own entity. In the state of yogurt other than the state of milk, the state of milk is, also other than the state of yogurt
