In order to explain that all the scriptures that expound on things like the absence of an object of focus will be explained by this treatise, only a brief mention is made of the aspects of combining with scriptures of definitive meaning. In the Jewel Cloud Sutra, it says: When turning the wheel of Dharma, from the very beginning, peaceful and unborn, the Dharma of self-nature Nirvana, the protector, you have shown. Similarly, from the very beginning, empty and future Dharma, without going, without place, devoid of place, the nature of illusion, always without essence, all pure and completely pure like the sky. Whatever Dharma of the Victorious Ones is well explained, that is also unseen because it is inexhaustible. This Dharma has been without self and without sentient beings from the beginning. Even if it is well explained, it will not be exhausted, but is taught as merely imputed. In samsara, no end can be found, and whatever has happened before has no characteristics. In order to also understand the future time, actions and deeds will proceed in that way, and the best and worst will occur. All dharmas are always foolish and empty in nature, and you should also understand that everything is without self. Thus it is said. Among them, "གཟོད་མ་" and "གདོད་མ་" mean the beginning. Peace is the realm of the wisdom of peace of all dharmas, because it is unborn, so self-nature is Nirvana, and the essence is empty because it exists. The four verses after that explain that the three times are empty from the beginning, like illusion and like the sky. The five verses after that explain that all dharmas are empty of the self of a person from the beginning, and the Dharma taught by the Victorious Ones is also taught as merely imputed. The five verses after that explain that dharmas have no beginning or end, and in order to also realize that in the future time, by engaging in activities now, the best and worst fruits will be obtained in the future, in accordance with merit. The two verses after that explain that all dharmas should understand the meaning of selflessness, which is the emptiness of the essence of the knower. Thirdly, if the person who revolves in samsara and the actions of that revolving, such as birth, old age, sickness, death, and cause and effect, exist by their own essence, then no name such as birth can be established. Therefore, what is said about the one who revolves and continuously experiences birth and death should be understood as only being established on the level of convention, which is reasonable. The words called "Examining the beginning and end".

This is an explanation of the eleventh chapter, "Detailed Differentiation," of the Eight Verses. Second, refuting the sign of having suffering as a basis, there are three parts: explaining the text of the treatise, combining it with definitive statements, and summarizing the points and indicating the name. The first part is: Here it is said: The self (ātman, आत्मन्, ātman, 我) exists by its own nature because there is suffering associated with it. The scriptures say that the five aggregates of clinging are suffering, so it exists, and suffering cannot exist without a basis, so there is a basis, and that basis is the self. To refute this, there are two parts: refuting that suffering exists by its own nature, and applying this reasoning to other phenomena as well. The first part has two parts: establishing the proposition, and explaining the proof. The first part is: Some opponents argue that suffering is created by the self, some argue that suffering is created by something other than itself, others argue that suffering is created by both self and other, and some argue that suffering arises from no cause, so all these sufferings should not be produced by their own nature. This is the establishment of the proposition. The Samkhya school argues that suffering is produced by the nature of suffering, and the Vaisheshika school and others argue that suffering is created by the self of a person. One's own school and others also argue that suffering is different from its cause and its own nature. Those who argue that it is created by both, such as the naked ascetics, say that what is created by the body is the suffering of the body, so it is created by oneself, and what is created by life is different from suffering, so it is created by others, and so on. The Charvaka school argues that it arises from no cause. The second part has two parts: refuting that suffering is created by self and other individually, and refuting that it is created by the combination of both and arguing for no cause. The first part has three parts: in terms of suffering, refuting that it is created by self and other individually, in terms of the person, refuting that it is created by each individually, and explaining other arguments to show that it is not created by self and other individually. The first part has two parts: in terms of suffering, refuting that it is created by oneself, and in terms of suffering, refuting that it is created by others. The first part is: If suffering is created by the self (ātman, आत्मन्, ātman, 我) itself, then the nature of suffering would create itself. Therefore,
