Thinking that there is nothing other than suffering, suffering brings suffering. If someone says that that person created suffering, and thinking that it is not suffering, other suffering created it. The first line negates that there is no single person who can approach, thus negating that suffering is created by the person himself. The second line negates that suffering itself created suffering itself, and the latter two lines negate that there is no self other than suffering, thus negating that suffering is created by others. The second point is that even if each individual suffering is not a creator, but if it is thought that the two together are creators, just as individual parts such as wheels cannot be called a chariot, but relying on the collection of parts can be called a chariot, then it is reasonable to say so. But just as if it is not each individual killer, it cannot be said that these two people jointly committed the killing. Therefore, if oneself and others separately create suffering, then even if these two sufferings together become creators, each individual suffering is not a creator, because this has already been negated. As mentioned earlier, if suffering is not created by me, nor is it created by others, then how can suffering arise without a cause? It will not arise, just like the fragrance of flowers in the sky. Therefore, since suffering is non-existent in its essence, the self that is its basis is also not existent in its essence. The second point is that not only for the suffering of inner sentient beings, the four ways such as what I have created are non-existent, but also for external objects, such as land, seedlings, bottles, felt, etc., all things, the four ways such as what I have created are also non-existent, as should be understood as previously stated. If for these inner and outer objects, the four ways such as what I have created are non-existent, then these things must exist, then how are they established? If from the perspective of searching for whether these things exist in their essence, if these things such as suffering exist in their own nature, then any one of the four ways such as what I have created must be established. But as previously stated, they are non-existent, so it can be affirmed that things such as suffering are non-existent in their own nature, because universal existence is impossible.

However, if one seeks to find self-existence merely through inverted means, as well as the principle of dependent origination of suffering and other conventional truths, then one should abandon the four views such as 'I made it,' and acknowledge that existence is established solely by the dependent origination of this condition, in the manner explained in the eight observations. As it is said: 'Suffering is made by me, made by others, and made by both; arising without cause is delusion; you say it arises dependently.' As it is said. In Buddhapālita's treatise, it is also said: 'If there is no suffering, why did the teacher (Shakyamuni Buddha) say, 'O Light-born, there is suffering, I know suffering, I see suffering'?' If someone raises such a question, one should answer: 'Who says there is no suffering? I have not said that therefore it does not depend on origination.' I have not said this, therefore I say that suffering is dependent origination, I do not say it is self-made, etc.' Therefore, by the reason that 'what is made by me' is dependent origination, it directly refutes 'made by me,' and both commentaries say that it refutes 'made by others' in the same way, therefore it also refutes 'made by both' in the same way. 'Arising without cause' is refuted by the same reason, which is very clear, therefore one must undoubtedly acknowledge the sequence of dependent origination of cause and effect. By refuting self-existence, it shows that all actions are reasonable in non-self-existence, which is very important to understand from beginning to end. If one thinks that the sequence of cause and effect dependent origination is refuted by the intellect that examines whether it is established or not, then there is no place to acknowledge the nature of cause and effect, therefore in this case, instead of showing subtle selflessness, one should show coarse selflessness and then guide them. Secondly, in this way, the self-made, other-made, both-made, and causelessness of phenomena are refuted, which is also established by profound scriptural evidence, and in order to show that all the scriptures that teach in this way will be explained by this observation, I will briefly mention the aspects of combining with the definitive meaning scriptures. As it is said in the Samadhiraja Sutra: 'In the conventional truth, the Victorious One teaches the Dharma, conditioned and unconditioned, view it thus. In reality, there is no self and no person, the characteristics of all beings are like this. Virtue and evil'
