Therefore, if it is thought that it has no cause, then, the sprout also exists, but what cause does it need? What has already grown cannot be produced again. This is like saying that if a sprout is ruined, no cause can do anything, so what is not ruined does not need a cause, which is a confusion. For this, what is not ruined has already been established, so now it is said that no cause is needed, but that which is established itself is the cause, so it is said that there is a cause, which is the real answer, but if this cannot be understood, then it becomes revealing. Furthermore, it did not exist before in the time of the seed, but later it existed, so the growth of the sprout has a cause, similarly, the destruction of the sprout also did not exist before in the time of the sprout, but later it existed, so it has a cause. Also, what is said, what cause acts on the destruction of the sprout, is unreasonable. We also do not think that it needs another cause, but the destruction of the sprout itself is the cause. If so, will it become substantial? Yes, it is substantial from the point of view of its own nature, but it is not substantial from the point of view of the sprout. Furthermore, the Tenth Ground Sutra says: Death also exists with two functions, namely, destroying conditioned phenomena and producing the cause of continuous ignorance. Therefore, destruction can act, so it has a cause. In these chapters, the Clear Words says that "destruction" refers to the case where one's own destruction is also considered destruction, while the opponent thinks that destruction and destruction are contradictory, so here destruction is explained. The sprout should also be understood as the destruction of other things. Second, for it, the cause of existing in the first moment and being destroyed in the second moment has already been explained. Apart from that, for the cause of continuous destruction, the Commentary on the Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning says that the exhaustion of butter and wick is like the cause of the extinguishing of a lamp. For this, the opponent says that the exhaustion of butter and wick is not the cause of the extinguishing of the lamp, but the exhaustion of butter and wick is that the last moment of the lamp does not have the complete cause of producing a similar future, and also the future is not produced because the cause of production is not complete, if so, if the cause is not lacking, then it will definitely be produced, so it is admitted that the lack of cause is the cause of not producing the future, therefore, the existing...

It is said that if the cause is exhausted, then the continued existence of the result will be considered to be exhausted as well. The sprout will grow, and for the future cause that has not yet grown, it is also considered that the previous conditions have been exhausted and are incomplete, just as the destruction of the sprout is regarded as real, and the future must also be regarded in the same way. To the argument that the exhaustion of butter and tree trunks cannot be a cause, the answer is: even if they are not exhausted and exist, they cannot be a cause, thus maintaining consistency. The meaning of what was previously said, such as "the seed is only considered the cause of the sprout in the state of existence," has already been said. Therefore, these cause-and-effect relationships such as sprouts must be established as seen by worldly people. In the world, people will say, "Because there is no water, my fruit is bad." "Because there is no food, my child died." In this way, because the former does not exist, the latter is destroyed. Similarly, just as food and water, when not exhausted, can be the cause of the child's survival and the fruit's goodness, when they are exhausted, they should also be regarded as the cause of those things' exhaustion. Therefore, those things that are not exhausted are different from things that do not exist, and through this, the aspect of the result should also be understood. This below is the combination of real and unreal conditioned things. Just as the Sixty Stanzas of Reasoning also says: "From the exhaustion of the cause, nirvana, is called exhaustion as the object of focus." This is the meaning of what is said, and the Hundred Treatises also says: "The fruit destroys the cause, therefore the non-existent will not arise." Because the cessation of the cause is caused by the arising of the fruit, this is the view of the noble father and son. The key to considering the past of the sprout's destruction as real lies in the fact that the future of the sprout is also the same. Therefore, this is also the meaning of "the non-existent will not arise." This way of establishing the past and future is unreasonable for self-established nature, but it is very reasonable for the school that does not acknowledge self-nature, even in conventional terms, as explained in the commentary of the Hundred Treatises. This school is very important, but it seems not well-known, so I will explain it in detail. Second, if it is said that although the common characteristics of conditioned phenomena—arising, abiding, and ceasing—are negated, the conditioned phenomena with special characteristics such as hardness and concealment are self-existent, then, just like this, because arising, abiding, and ceasing are not self-established, conditioned phenomena are not self-existent. Therefore, their special characteristics are also not self-established. The second is:
