it also becomes together. The former demonstrates the proof that it cannot be together, and the latter demonstrates the harm to being together. The second part has three points: not being established as different, therefore not being able to be together; if established as different, then there is no need to be together; and if relying on different things together, then it is shown to be mutually dependent. The first point is: if it is not possible to be together for one thing, then can it be established as together for different things? If desire and attachment are different in nature, if you think they can be together, then will desire and attachment become mutually independent different things? If it is established like that, then the two will become together. For example, just as a cow and a horse that are established as different without relying on each other are seen together, if they are seen like that, they are not different, so the two do not have togetherness in nature. This Also, if it is established as together in nature, it is no different from unrelated togetherness. The second point is: if it is not possible to be together for things that are not established as different, so desire and attachment are established as different in nature, if you think so, then in order to make the other party establish that the two exist in nature, why do you completely think that they are together? It is unreasonable to think that way. The reason is that the necessity of thinking that they are together is to establish the meaning of "this desire is attached to this person who has attachment to this object", if it is different in nature, then that kind of mutual dependence is unreasonable. Although Aryadeva has examined the objects together, it is meaningless to examine them there only because of the fault of being different, just like watering something that is already wet. Moreover, the meaning of the Prasannapadā (Clear Words) is the same, if it is established as self-nature different, then it is established as self-nature existing, so it should not be said that it is meaningless to go through the path of being together in the middle to prove this. The third point is: if it is only different, then the necessity of mutual dependence of "this is attached to this" cannot be established, in order to prove this well, if you think that the two are together, then the mutually dependent together also

Since it cannot be different in nature, it incurs the fault of being the same. In order to thoroughly prove this, you also assert it to be different, which is like a bad garment threatened by a great wind, shrinking and staying, and when shrinking too much becomes unbearable, one has to stretch it out. This statement by Sangye Kyang (Buddhabuddhipāda) is clear. Here, does each separate part have a different entity, or does it exist in things that occur together? If it is the former, that is not possible, because for each of the two separate parts, desire and attachment, it is impossible to say, "This is desire," "This is attached by it." If it is the latter, it has already been said that there is no difference in essence, so an entity that is different in essence cannot be established, and since it is not established, a simultaneous entity will not be established, because it exists only in different things. Thus, whether each one or both occur together, or you arbitrarily examine another different entity, whatever entity that is different in essence that allows desire and attachment to be considered as simultaneous entities, please speak of it, said Sangye Kyang. The second is, when examined with the reasons stated above, desire and attachment, whether simultaneous, non-simultaneous, or sequential, are not established. Therefore, the person who desires, the mind, the object of desire, and the desire with which one desires, all are established as being empty of inherent existence. The third is, just as desire has been examined, so too should it be understood that hatred and aversion, ignorance and delusion, and all other phenomena, whether simultaneous, non-simultaneous, or sequential, cannot be established by reasoning. That is: If hatred comes first, There is aversion without hatred, Relying on that, there is hatred, With aversion, there will be hatred. And so on, translate and refute these quotations. The second is, in this way, the fact that all phenomena are shown to be without inherent existence by the reasoning that examines attachment and so on is also established by definitive statements. And, in order to show this topic, all the scriptures that explain that what is attached to and what attaches, etc., are without inherent existence will be explained. Therefore, it is the direction to combine with definitive statements.
