Yes. When the viewer, whether dependent on viewing or not, does not exist by nature, and the viewer does not exist, then where are those objects of viewing and viewing that are without cause? Because they do not exist by nature, how can the viewer be established as existing by nature by the reason that they exist? Here it is said that if the object of viewing and viewing exist by nature, it is because the result of those two exists. Because consciousness arises in dependence on viewing and the object of viewing, and the union of the three produces contact, which is with outflows, and what arises together with contact is feeling, and the cause of that is craving. Here, the verse "How are parents, etc." appears, which is not in the other three Chinese translations, and this commentary does not explain it either. Avalokiteshvara Shantaraksita says that the root wisdom has four hundred and forty-nine verses, which does not match, so it is clear that it was translated from an incorrect version. If the four, such as consciousness, exist by nature, then those two would also become existing by nature, but they do not exist, because the viewer does not exist by nature, and the object of viewing and viewing do not exist by nature, so the four, such as consciousness, including contact, feeling, and craving, do not exist by nature. Here it is said that taking, etc., is caused by craving, so consciousness, etc., exists, because taking, existence, birth, old age, and death, etc., arise from those. If you say so. When the object of viewing and viewing do not exist by nature, and consciousness, etc., do not exist by nature, then how can taking closely and existence, birth, old age, etc., included by etc., become existing by nature? They will not become existing by nature. Second, if you block viewing, then hearing, etc., are not blocked, because those exist, and things exist by nature. If you say so. Hearing, smelling, experiencing, touching, and thinking with the mind, and the hearer and what is heard, and the smeller and what is smelled included by etc., and the experiencer and what is experienced, and the toucher and what is touched, and the thinker and what is thought, know that these must be explained in detail. Who explains in detail? It is viewing itself.

That is to say, just as blocking seeing, one should also know blocking hearing and the other five, and like blocking the seer, one should also block the hearer and the other five, and like blocking what is seen, one should also block what is heard and the other five. Moreover, the self-nature of hearing is: In this, hearing is not hearing. And the self-nature of smelling, and the self-nature of experiencing, and the self-nature of touching, and the self-nature of thinking, etc., these should be translated. Secondly, like this, the three groups of six, namely karma, agent, and actor, are blocked from existing by their own nature, and one should not think that this is merely established by reasoning, and one should block this idea. And, in order to show that all the scriptures that block seeing form with the eyes, etc., should be explained with this distinction, only a small amount of definitive meaning of the teachings and the aspect of combination are mentioned. The Blessed One said: Here, the noble hearer, with the eyes, whatever forms are to be known, whether past, future, or present, these, permanence or steadfastness or suchness or non-otherness suchness or non-reversed suchness, there is none, illusion is there. What is made by illusion is there. Making the mind confused is there. That is deception, thus each distinguishes. The other five are also the same as this. In the Sutra of Transference of Existence it is also said: The eyes do not see forms, The mind does not know dharmas, Where the world does not enter, This is the supreme truth. Where seeing by the gathering of causes, The guide is well able to show, That ground, the holder of ultimate meaning, Will be able to realize the imputed nature. Therefore, from the eye to the mind, these six, holding the objects of action, karma, and actor with emptiness of self-nature, the wisdom of the world does not enter into this, this is the ultimate truth, from other translations it is said: Now it is the ultimate truth. Just like the translation. Relying on the power of the gathering of causes such as the senses and objects, showing that each holds its own object, holding that ground as ultimately existent is merely imputation. Similarly: Relying on the eye and form, Eye consciousness arises here, But form does not rely on the eye, Form does not benefit the eye, Selfless, unbeautiful, these dharmas.
