What else can the stayer do? If this (staying) is also established by its own nature, then it is already established for the stayer, so there is the fault of having to stay again. What third thing other than the goer and the non-goer will stay? It will not, because that is impossible. If it is said that the non-goer and neither the goer nor the non-goer do not stay, but the goer himself stays, then how can it be reasonable to say that the goer stays for a while? It will not be reasonable, because when the activity of going does not exist in the meaning of the word, the term "goer" will not be reasonable. Therefore, when it is said "this stays," there is no going that contradicts staying for it. The fourth case is: going exists by its own nature, because there is something that contradicts going, that is, because when returning from going, staying begins. If it is said that returning exists by its own nature, then the place of returning will not exceed three, and it will not return from the step, because the step is not found to exist by its own nature, and even if only the step is allowed to exist, the activity is not reasonable for it as before. Returning from the road that has been traveled is not going, because there is no activity of going there. Returning from the road that has not been traveled is also not going, because there is also no activity of going there. Therefore, the return of going does not exist by its own nature. On the other two roads, the activity of going back does not exist even nominally, but on the step, it does not exist ultimately. The fifth case is: if going does not exist because there is no opposite of going, then in order to establish going, staying should be established, because when staying is established, going is also established. Therefore, staying exists by its own nature, because its opposite exists. If the opposite is also going, then the going established for the purpose of establishing staying is like the staying established for the purpose of establishing going, like the statement of refutation such as "the goer does not stay for a while," etc., refuting by translating the two verses such as "the stayer does not go for a while," etc. If staying begins after abandoning going, and staying exists because that (staying) exists, then the entry of staying, that is, the beginning, is also the beginning of going.

Regarding the distance already traveled, saying "There is no traveling in what has been traveled," etc., refutes the argument. Similarly, regarding the place already stayed, saying "There is no staying in the place stayed," etc., reciting three verses, refutes the argument. If Devadatta has already stayed, and when returning from the place of staying, he begins to walk, because there is a return from the place of staying, therefore it is thought that staying exists. Then, returning from the place of staying will not become returning from the place of walking, preventing returning from the place of walking. Etc., refutes the argument. Similarly, one does not return from the place where one is staying. Etc., reciting two verses, refutes the argument. Therefore, since staying is empty of inherent existence, how can walking be established? The fourth part is divided into two parts: examining and refuting the one and the other of the walker and the walking; examining and refuting whether there is a second action in the action of being a walker. The first part is: walking, entering, and returning, these three paths, or whether the walker exists or not, these two situations, and other than that, cannot be said to exist. Although seeing Devadatta put down his feet, therefore he is called a walker, so the walker and the action of walking are inherently existent. If the action of walking of Devadatta putting down his feet and Devadatta putting down his feet are both inherently existent, then it must be established whether the inherent existence is one or the other. The action of walking and the walker are the same inherent existence, this is also not possible, and the walking and the walker are other inherent existences, this is also not possible. How is it not possible? If the action of walking and the walker are the same inherent existence, then the agent and the action itself, that is, the action, will also become the same, so it is impossible to distinguish "This is the action, this is the agent," then the action of cutting and the cutter are also not the same. Therefore, the two have not been established as the same inherent existence, thus refuting. If, again, the action of walking and the walker are examined separately as being inherently different, then, in this case, it will become that there is walking that does not depend on the walker, and a walker that does not depend on the action of walking, which can be considered in this way, but it is also not possible to consider it in this way, so the two are inherently different.
